When families face dementia, every moment matters. At our retreat we lifted our voices for - One Moment in Time, to remind families impacted by dementia and Dementia Doulas everywhere, that together, our lanterns light the way for others.

Dementia doesn’t discriminate, and to high profile celebrities like Robbie Williams who may be feeling disconnected from the world right now, please know we are here and may you feel our presence through the power of coming together through music.

What a wonderful way to finish day 1 of our Dementia Doula Retreat! Scoping out Channel 9 The Block houses to see if one may be suitable for a Dementia Doula Clubhouse!! (We can but wish!!)🤔 Imagine a beautiful setting like Daylesford where Dementia Doulas and families could come together and just park dementia for a while!

What a beautiful start to our retreat! A day at Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa to ensure our cup is full for the sessions that lay ahead.

Thank you so much to Michael and staff for our wonderful experience and for our beautiful gifts recognising the work our Dementia Doulas are out there doing. A beautiful reminder that we are making a difference.

The Block Channel 9

So we’ve landed in the beautiful town of Daylesford for our inaugural Dementia Doula retreat! Coincidentally - Channel 9, The Block is also in town.

While the contestants on TV are busy renovating houses, we’re here building something just as important:
- Stronger foundations for families living with dementia
- A supportive Dementia Doula community that lasts beyond the retreat
- Learning what it is to build spaces for rest, reflection, and connection for not only the families we serve but also for ourselves.

We look forward to raising funds for our charity Dementia Doulas Australia to build environments where family carers prepare for an unknown future, put a plan in place to reduce burning out and for those living with a diagnosis of dementia to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Introducing Monique who will be no stranger to so many within the dementia world within Australia (and internationally). This is a 'can do' Dementia Doula with loads of experience and compassion in this space who is doing wonderful things within her community and reshaping societal views on what it is to live with dementia.

All our Dementia Doula members have gone through our extensive Dementia Doula program and continue with ongoing professional development through our membership community.
