And that’s a wrap for Summer Holiday Buddies ‘25! 💚

What a busy program we have had throughout the past three weeks, jam packed with fun, activities, sunshine and friends.

Week 3 wrapped up with
🎶🥁 music therapy
🔫💦 water play
🪴👩‍🌾 gardening
🐴🐓 farm animal visits and
🎉🥳 party day on-site;

Whilst community access were out and about catching busses 🚌 , visiting parks 🏞️, cooking 🧑‍🍳 and watching the pantomime 🎭

✨ Can we take a minute to celebrate these Buddies?! ✨

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing participants — and an extra special shout-out to our Young Leaders who make Holiday Buddies truly unique 💚

Over the past three weeks, our Young Leaders have generously volunteered their time to bring friendship, fun and peer mentorship to our capacity-building program. From joining in the activities to encouraging confidence, connection and participation — they lead by example every step of the way. Whilst in reverse their buddies are teaching them about inclusion, differing abilities, alternative forms of communication (AAC) and inclusion.

This peer-to-peer approach is what sets Holiday Buddies apart, and we couldn’t do it without you 🙌
We love everything you bring to our program — thank you for being such incredible role models! 🌟 For those who dodged the camera and missed our party finale yesterday we will be in touch with your certificates!

And just like that, we are flying into week 3 of Holiday Buddies! ✈️
Last week was packed with fun - from Emergency Services and Space, to Summer vibes and Sally Sunshine Bubbles ☀️🚀🚒

Our Community Access group has been out and about exploring local parks, visiting a raspberry farm, and having some down time with movies and cooking.

Through it all, our amazing Peer Mentor Young Leaders have brought friendship, positive role modelling and fun. We absolutely love their volunteer sessions and the positive vibe they bring. 💚

Looking forward to seeing the crew tomorrow for another week of adventures! 🎶 🪴 💦 🐐🥳

Our Summer Holiday Buddies & Community Access Programs are officially underway! From tennis in the sun, to beach and water fun, a visit to the salmon ponds and new year’s baking, week one has already been a blast and we are just getting started! 🎾🚌👩‍🍳⛱

Wishing all our staff, volunteer young leader peer mentors, participants, and families across Tasmania a Happy New Year! Bring on 2026 and the abundance of connections, laughter and magic that await us! 💚

So excited to join students from Norwood Primary School and the Northern Support School - Launceston for the launch of this innovative and award-winning program in the north, aimed at strengthening skills, confidence and peer-to-peer connections between mainstream and support school students.
