🌸 Time to check your breasts🌸

As we navigate the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's easy to forget about taking care of ourselves. But today, we want to take a moment to remind you of something vital - your health.

🎀 It's Time for Your Monthly Breast Self-Examination 🎀

Early detection is key to successfully treating breast cancer, and a simple check can be the first step. Take a few minutes to perform a self-examination; if you're unsure how, now is the perfect time to learn.https://nbcf.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/NBCF_Breast-SelfCheck_guidelines-V3.pdf

📅 Make it a monthly habit, and encourage your sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends to do the same. You're not just taking care of yourself; you're helping to spread awareness and save lives.

Let's support each other in staying healthy and strong. Together, we can make a difference. 💖

The McGrath Foundation endorses monthly breast checks: LOOK, FEEL,LEARN.

Regular self-checking can help you to identify any changes in your body that should be examined by your doctor. When breast cancer is diagnosed and treated early, lives are saved.

At Gault Surgery we aim to provide high quality care to patients and their families.

💔Breast cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women, with 1 in 8 women developing it in their lifetime.

🙌While some risk factors, such as age and genetics, cannot be modified, there are some modifiable factors that can help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. In this blog, we will discuss some of the most important modifiable risk factors of breast cancer to help you understand how to minimise your risk.

⚖️Maintain a Healthy Weight:
Being overweight or obese increases the risk of developing breast cancer, especially after menopause. This is because fat cells can produce estrogen, which can promote breast cancer growth. Therefore, maintaining a healthy weight by following a healthy diet and regular exercise can help reduce the risk of breast cancer.

🍷Reduce Alcohol Intake:
Drinking alcohol is associated with the risk of developing breast cancer. Therefore, limiting alcohol intake or avoiding it altogether is recommended. According to research, even small amounts of alcohol increase the risk of breast cancer. Hence, it is ideal to limit alcohol intake to one drink per day or avoid it completely.

🏃‍♀️Exercise Regularly:
Regular exercise is an essential part of maintaining overall health and wellbeing. It also reduces the risk of developing breast cancer. Exercise helps maintain a healthy weight and reduces estrogen levels, reducing the risk of breast cancer.

🚭Quit Smoking:
Smoking is not only harmful to the lungs, but it is also harmful to overall health. It has shown that a woman who smokes or used to smoke has a higher risk of developing breast cancer than women who have never smoked. Therefore, quitting smoking can help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer.

🥬Ensure a Healthy Diet:
A healthy diet is essential in reducing the risk of breast cancer. Limiting processed and red meat intake and eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can help lower the risk of breast cancer.

In conclusion, while breast cancer cannot be entirely prevented, the risk can be minimized by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol and to***co can help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. If you have any concerns about the risk of breast cancer, consult your healthcare provider. Remember, early detection is the key to successful treatment.🙌
