Always learning, no cracks, tonal adjustment

Recently, Ting attended a Tonal Adjustment workshop with chiropractor Stephen Foster, which gave a new perspective on different techniques.

Tonal Adjustment focuses on balancing tension within the nervous system. The process is very gentle — there’s no traditional “crack” sound — yet it still provides effective adjustments. One of her biggest personal takeaways was noticing that, after treatment, her knees in the prone position became more symmetrical, and the discomfort in her right patellar from prolonged prone lying was reduced.

As an allied health practitioner, it’s important to stay open-minded, keep learning, and selectively integrate techniques that are effective into clinical practice. Coming from a background of Sports Med, Rehab and Chiro, she enjoys combining techniques such as Diversified adjustments, dry needling, and PNF stretching to maximize treatment effects, and is always open to learning new approaches.

Nat is away this weekend attending a professional development seminar to further her education in DNS – Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation.

DNS is a rehabilitation and performance approach based on developmental kinesiology. It focuses on restoring ideal breathing patterns, core stability, posture and movement control to improve function, reduce pain and enhance performance. By retraining and facilitating the nervous system and stabilising muscles to work the way they were designed to, DNS helps create stronger, more efficient movement patterns.

🔹 Holds a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University (same as Disha and Nat!)
🔹 Holds a Master of Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation from Beijing University
🔹 Fluent in both English and Mandarin
🔹 Her clinical approach integrates chiropractic adjustments with soft tissue releases and stretching, rehab exercises, dry needling and traditional Chinese therapies such as cupping and Gua Sha
🔹 Enjoys working with a broad range of patients, from families and everyday movers to elite performers
