Did you know...
The Origin of Halloween started in Ireland?

The Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated on November 1, is the holiday's most direct ancestor. The Celts believed spirits returned to earth, and they lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward them off.

The Christians - In the 8th century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a day to honor all saints, a move that incorporated some of the Samhain traditions. The night before, October 31st, became known as "All Hallows' Eve," which eventually became Halloween.

Over time, Halloween has become a mainstream, largely nonreligious holiday focused on fun, especially for children. It has been embraced through marketing, pop culture, and community events.

People of all ages dress up in creative and spooky costumes. The tradition of wearing masks may have come from the idea of tricking spirits.

Trick-or-treating is a tradition where children go door-to-door to receive candy. The custom is believed to have been popularized by Irish and Scottish immigrants in the United States.

Carving faces into pumpkins and placing a light inside. Originally, people carved faces into turnips, a tradition that likely originated from the legend of "Stingy Jack".

People also celebrate with parties, haunted houses, and by telling ghost stories.

As you see things evolve over time, gets different meanings of celebrations.

I wish you a fabulous Halloween 🎃!

This happens a lot in my sessions! 👆

Often halfway through the session, my clients start to yawn, some even doze off for a moment, their tummies gurgle... and they start to apologizing for doing so. Please don't! This excites me, as these are all signs that your body has switched back into the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), feeling safe to release, realign and starting the healing process. Let me tell you a little more...

The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is often referred to as the "rest and digest" system because it conserves energy, increasing intestinal and gland activity, and relaxing sphincter muscles in the gastrointestinal tract (yes the gurgles in your lower tummy/ intestines).

When your body is in this state, several signs indicate that healing and recovery are taking place. One of the most evident signs is a sense of deep relaxation and calmness. Your heart rate and blood pressure tend to decrease, a key indicator that your body is not in a fight-or-flight mode. You may also notice more regular and deeper breathing patterns, as the PNS promotes a state of tranquility. This shift allows your body to allocate resources towards healing and regeneration, rather than preparing for immediate action.

Another significant sign is improved digestion and nutrient absorption. The PNS stimulates the production of saliva, gastric juices, and digestive enzymes, which help break down food more effectively. This not only aids in nutrient absorption but also supports the body's natural detoxification processes.

When the body is relaxed and free from stress, it can focus on repairing damaged cells and combating infections more effectively, recovers faster from injuries and creates an overall feeling of well-being.

So, please stop apologizing for yawning or stomach gurgles - instead notice & celebrate, that your body has switched on the PNS and is working towards healing & maintaining optimal health!

Much love, Alex 💫

When someone asked why I no longer speak to a certain person, I gave an honest answer. Their response? “Why don’t you be the bigger person and reach out?”

People often confuse being the bigger person with constantly reopening old wounds, hoping for a different outcome. But real growth means knowing when to step back. It means recognizing when a relationship has become toxic, when conversations lead nowhere, and choosing peace over endless cycles of frustration.

Reaching out over and over, only to be met with the same disrespect, broken trust, or unresolved issues, is draining. Being the bigger person doesn’t mean tolerating mistreatment—it means prioritizing your own well being. It’s okay to leave behind relationships that no longer serve you, to protect your peace, and to love people from a distance when closeness only brings chaos. Some chapters don’t need revisiting and some doors are meant to stay closed. 🫶🫶🫶

A "smoking" hot day. The air was filled with smoke and strong winds...

Strong winds can cause feelings of anxiety, irritability, and restlessness, while light breezes can be soothing.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we talk about internal wind and external wind. Here is some idea what it means.

External Wind:

This is an external, wind-like climatic force that enters the body and creates illness.

Symptoms: Typically begins with symptoms on the head, face, or upper body. It can cause headaches, nasal congestion, throat irritation, and aversion to wind. When the body is vulnerable, external wind can pe*****te through the back of the neck.

That's why it's a great idea to wear light scarves in Spring, to cover up the "Windgate".

The "Wind Gate" (Feng Men) is located on the upper back, at the base of the neck

The season Spring time is in the Wood Element and the wind is one of the characteristics.

Take good care of the Feng Men (Wind Gate). Eat fresh food and take time to plan things you enjoy doing. 😉

Create Happy Minds with Kinesiology

My journey as a healer started in 2001 when I woke up with intense back-pain. I visited a gifted healer who used kinesiology and life was never the same. I wanted to know how he fixed my back and I started my journey learning how to heal and to be healed.

Growing up in a family with disability, mental issues and lots of medicines, I was so curious and driven that I wanted to know all about how you could use complimentary therapies to heal with/without allopathic medicine. Many people today suffer from intense stress, anxiety and/or being emotionally unsettled. Anxiety and stress affect our health in so many ways. It effects our personal life, the relationship with ourselves and to others. We can’t sleep and there is a feeling of not feeling quite right.

Create Happy Minds is about Healing with love and purpose: to watch the ripple effect of Happiness and Healing is amazing.

To further my skills, I am currently studying to attain a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) at Endeavour College, Brisbane.
