Here’s a peek at just a few areas of my sewing room at the moment. For reasons unknown, I decided to start pulling everything off the shelves and reorganise... again! 🤦‍♀️ The creative chaos never ends!

This year has been a whirlwind of incredible highs and unimaginable lows, and I know many of you can relate to that sentiment.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your amazing support this year of Life Sews On, I truly appreciate it!

Although there is uncertainty surrounding my health and what lies ahead, I remain committed to continuing lessons in the new year. I also have exciting plans to expand the business.

However, I won’t be able to book any lessons for at least the next three weeks until I have more clarity on my situation.

Wishing you all a happy, prosperous New Year filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.❤️

Christmas can be a challenging time for many, and I believe it’s important to acknowledge that. When I came across this video, it brought a smile to my face and made me laugh, so I wanted to share it with you 😊.

One of my goals for Life Sews On is to collaborate with organisations, charities, and businesses to make a meaningful difference to those in need 🎁❤️.

When you have a chance, please take a look at the amazing work Eddy The Teddy Bear is doing for children’s hospitals across the UK—Their efforts are part of the inspiration behind my idea🧸.

I’ll have more details on this in the new year, but if you’re interested in being a part of this initiative, please don’t hesitate to contact me 📧💬📞

This week’s shopping spree was a bit of a splurge! I saved $80, but somehow managed to spend almost double that. Oops! 🫢

One of my plans this year was to make my husband some singlets for summer, but the cooler months came and went… and now summer is already here. So they will be my next project.

I also picked up some cute holiday-themed fabric to make a button, tie-front shirt. It was supposed to be ready for our trip to South West Rocks this week. Unfortunately, that trip didn’t happen, but I’m determined to sew it anyway. Who says you need a holiday to enjoy a holiday shirt?

I picked up some denim to make a pair of denim overalls, and I'm thinking of turning them into a short version—ideal for those sunny summer days!

I really need to stop shopping and start sewing, but it’s just so much fun! 😁

Hi Everyone,

This is a post I never thought I’d have to write, but here we are.

In 1997, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and treated with radiotherapy. Then, in 2018, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy.

Now, I have been diagnosed with cancer again but the type is yet to be confirmed
We are waiting on biopsy results, further tests and then an appointment with an oncologist in a few weeks.

Through everything, I’m incredibly blessed to have my amazing husband, Terry, by my side. We’ve been through so much together, and this won’t be any different.

The past two years with Life Sews On have been awesome. I have learned so much, been constantly inspired by my clients, and am so grateful for all your support.

This news has been overwhelming, and I’m still processing everything. My priority now is focusing on my health and taking things one step at a time.

For my regular clients, I will be in touch privately.

Due to the uncertainty, I’m unable to take new lesson bookings at this time.

While I step back from lessons for now, I’ll continue to share projects, videos, fun stuff, updates and much more.

Your ongoing support means so much to me, and I hope you’ll continue to follow along during this time.

Nicole❤️

Whenever I try a new pattern, I always do a practice run first to familiarise myself with the process and work out any tricky parts.

For this hat, I used leftover sewing-themed fabric (I can't help myself 🙃) along with some curtain scrap fabric, and I’m so happy with how it turned out that I’ll be using this version!

It’s fully lined, and completely reversible.

The free pattern by Twig + Tale is available in sizes from baby to adult and is a great beginner project. 👒

Lots of rain and storms are predicted in Blayney (Central West NSW) today, so I’ve made a coffee and parked myself in the sewing room—with plans to create something, though I have absolutely no idea what yet🤦‍♀️.

I love the sound of rain while I sew, but let’s be honest, the only thing missing is chocolate.😀☕🌧️✂️🍫
