How to set goals after the silly season 🥂
If you’re anything like me and are getting back into the work life routine tomorrow, you might be thinking about how to ‘get back on track’ after the last couple of weeks of festivities. Start with these tips:
✨Start with a few small changes you’d like to make first. It might be eating less takeaway and cooking more at home, drinking less alcohol or adding more veg back into your meals. Pick the easiest one or two first and focus on that for the week. When you’ve nailed it and it’s become part of your regular routine, add in the next health habit. Small steps add up over time
✨ Avoid at all costs the onslaught of new year diets, health kicks, challenges etc that encourage detoxes, buying weight loss products or that promise dramatic results in a short period of time. I promise that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! Most of these only work in the short term and won’t help you create long term changes.
✨ Don’t set the bar too high and leave yourself feeling unmotivated or disappointed in a months time when you haven’t reached your goals. Write down what you want to achieve, then write the steps and actions that will help you get there, this way you know it is going to be realistic. Not planning is just leaving more potential room for let down
And if you don’t have any goals, that’s also fine! I just have my fingers crossed to get through 2021 with no curve balls 🤞🏻😂
