***Change of date to Friday 8th August! Mark your calendar 🗓️ 🕺 🪩

As some of you may know, along with sound journeys. One of my other passions is raving and electronic dance music!

From the minute I went to my first rave I was hooked. The pumping bass, the people, the lights, the energy. There was and still is nothing like feeling the beat of 4 to the floor moving through my body. It’s the place I began to feel the most free. The most like myself. And the most joy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And so I’m excited to share that I’m hosting my first ecstatic dance event in Canberra - fri 8th august 6:30pm!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
An event designed to get you out of your head and into your body with some rhythmic goodness. Think afro house, organic house, tribal beats and maybe a hint of techno. And then we’ll melt into a soothing live sound healing session to finish.

Finding the right sound journey space can feel like trying to find the one.
So many factors need to be right - does it have good acoustics, is it vibey, does it feel safe, is it in the right location, good availability?

Some people think all you need is just a big room. But after facilitating many journeys, I’ve realised that these details are actually so important to have in a space. It’s the environment that allows us to feel safe enough to let ourselves to go deep ✨

The next journey in this beautiful space (Belconnen Arts Centre, Canberra) is on the 30th May and it’s selling quite quickly 🫶🏻 Would love to see you there if you feel you need some soothing sounds in your life 🪬🌀

I spent a few days camping at Jervis Bay and was exactly the reset I needed. Prior to this trip I was feeling overwhelmed, burnt out and just very ungrounded.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few years ago I never used to really know what people meant when they said they felt ungrounded, it was just an abstract concept for me. But having done my fair share of spiritual activities in recent years I'm now very aware of the need to ground myself after each exploration. It's a strange one to try and explain, but I can tell that I need grounding when I start to feel like I'm outside of my body. When I start to feel almost like I'm floating - but not in that relaxed, calm way. More in a way that feels like I'm not quite here, present on earth. My dreams become very intense and strange and I just generally feel like I'm in my mind more than my body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When this happens, the best thing for me is nature. I will try and lay on the earth wherever I can - maybe on the sand or grass and use my intention to pull some of the earth's energy up through my feet into my body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And sound is also a useful tool for grounding, I tend to move towards more earthy music, with drums, shakers and rattles and didgeridoos. Instruments that feel like they have a heavy, natural quality to them.

Anyway I've come back from the trip feeling super refreshed and ready to work on some new sound projects (also involving hypnosis!), so stay tuned 🌀

Super excited to launch this 5-week online container to support those of you who are needing a little nervous system re-balancing.

It's been a common theme of people coming to my sound journeys over the past few months feeling totally exhausted, overwhelmed and not like themselves. I've been in this place too and have decided to share some of the tools that have worked for me. And whilst I'm not an expert on some of these areas I'm bringing in people who are!

So each week will meet online to support each other, learn and chat with experts about tools we can use and then finish with a soothing sound bath - the ultimate tool in restoration.

A few new faces around here so I thought I’d share a little bit about myself, but maybe in a different format as I find it can be insightful to get to know someone by asking them the things about themselves they haven’t always accepted or tried to change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So hi - I’m Brooke. And the following are the things about me I’ve tried to reject but have now come to accept about myself:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌀 I absolutely love going to raves and dancing to house music. There’s something about being in the middle of a sweaty dance floor that makes my soul extremely happy. The best combo is sat night out dancing, recharge Sunday afternoon w a sound bath ✨
🌀 I can no longer drink coffee and have to severely limit my caffeine intake. My nervous system and blood sugar levels can’t handle it anymore
🌀 I’m just not a morning person, I function best from the hours after 10am. Hence why facilitating sound journeys are perfect for me, bc who wants a 6am sound bath 😅
🌀 I used to feel a lot of shame about not always being the loudest person in the room, as I used to think loud = fun/smart. But I have now realised that it’s usually the quiet people that see and notice the most and have the best insights. If you want a different perspective, ask the quiet ppl 🤍
