It's been a huge few weeks of tests and news of my conditions progressing.

So just reminding myself I am more than my deficits.

And reminding you all of why the medical model of disability is a negative and diminishing experience for us disabled folk.

There's so much more to us then the s**t we can't do.

Here's another reminder for you abled's.

The current negative hype towards the NDIS is just political.

I will refrain to comment to much on how disgusting our pollies are for using such an important thing for their own gain, as it is what we expect really.

But I will say that money 'spent' on NDIS is paying a wage, or purchasing a product from stores paying a wage, therapy that pays one, etc etc etc.

This is a good thing for our economy right? And was especially good during the Spicy flu era, as those 'essential workers' conveniently continued working and holding up our economy with the rest of the essential workers.

I do note that they don't mention the cost NDIA forks out for their team of lawyers they utilise at tribunal hearings against us disabled folk who usually have to represent ourselves as there isn't enough advocates funded to help us. And of course most of us can't afford actual lawyers to fight for what is usually our human rights. I know all the cases where I have had to advocate (for free due to those reasons), they are usually accessibility and the right to proper support that we are fighting for.

Speak up. And get educated with FACTS.

There are REAL people behind these issues who need an honest and fair system.

Because without it, we will struggle even more than we do now.

Tell them we are not distracted by the stunts they're pulling.

Maybe we could start with with taxing the rich properly? Just a thought
