Feeling tired all the time, irritable and like your body (and energy levels) are on a constant sugar rollercoaster?

You’re not alone. Unbalanced & fluctuating blood sugar levels can wreak havoc on your energy, mood, and even your hormones (among other things).

As a dietitian who battled similar issues, I understand the struggle. I spent years struggling with low energy levels, poor sleep, afternoon slumps and cravings, alongside hormonal imbalances that caused a number of issues.

I used to think that blood sugar regulation only mattered in those suffering from insulin resistance, prediabetes and diabetes… until I realised that it actually effects all of us and can significantly effect our day to day energy levels.

A lifetime of dieting, restricting your intake and miscalculating calories or focusing soley on this can do severe damage to your metabolism, energy levels, gut health and overall health!

Unfortunately, the world we live in has lead to MAJORITY of people, women in particular, living this way and thinking its normal!

That narrative is slowly but surely changing thankfully! But the message needs to keep being shared.

When I first started out as a dietitian years ago, and prior to that, I used to be that coach who encouraged clients straight into calorie cuts, thinking less is more. But guess what? That NEVER worked (at least in the long run)

Here’s the truth: undereating isn’t just about weight loss, it messes with your whole system!

My gut felt like a warzone, I was always tired, and forget building muscle – I felt weak and drained.

Turns out, it wasn’t just me. SO many women eat well below their requirements in a day, even whilst doing insane amounts of exercise. That quite literally is a recipe for disaster.

Here are a few of the reasons why undereating sucks:

❌Gut Blues: Say goodbye to smooth digestion and hello to bloating and discomfort. Your gut thrives on a balanced diet, not deprivation.

❌Metabolic Mayhem: Think you’re speeding up your metabolism by eating less? Nope! Your body goes into survival mode, slowing things down and making weight loss even harder.

❌Muscle Meltdown: Want that toned bod? Forget it if you’re undereating. Muscle needs fuel to grow and stay strong, not constant restriction.

❌Energy Ebb: Feeling like a slug? Undereating zaps your energy, making you tired, sluggish, and grumpy (trust me, I know!).

We are always looking for the next best thing, the easiest or the quickest option to overcoming our problems.
But in doing so, your only delaying any REAL progress.
Majority of the time, you dont make sustainable change because you havent really addressed the root cause - not because you havent tried but because you may be thinking/looking in the wrong places.
So get honest with yourself - its not a trick question but usually the answer is so obvious and simple it seems unlikely to be true - that usually means its right!!

Stop trying to look outside yourself for answers!

This may be a harsh truth for some but I say it with the best intentions.

Its ok to not have all the answers or not know where to start and its also ok to need guidance and assistance, but looking for surface level temporary solutions (which us exactly what you’ll get with the statement above) isn’t going to fix or help any of your health related concerns in the long run.

To put it bluntly it is more often than not a waste of time, energy, money and resources and will leave you wishing you had sought a longer term solution that may require a little bit more effort in the initial stages but far less down the line!!

I say this now because I hear people say this quite literally every single day! And it actually saddens me. I dont try convince them otherwise because at the end of the day they need to want to change and I only want to work with people who are already at that stage.
But I want to bring more awareness to this because its such a backwards way of thinking and doing things.
Sustainability should be at the forefront of every decision you make!!

Trust me I get it! It causes you lose faith in your own ability to achieve your goals! But more often than not its not that YOU cant achieve them, its that majority of solutions available teach a very outdated method of achieving what you want to.

AND most options don’t really truely get to the root cause of the issues (even if thats what they think they are helping you do).

So if your feeling depleted, if your lacking the self-trust to even have another go at achieving your goals, I hear you, but know that you are capable.
If your doing it the right way (meaning the sustainable way) it wont feel overwhelming or too difficult or impossible for you, infact it may even seem a little to easy or simple to be true. But thats the reality of making sustainable change.

It gets to be easy, it gets to be fun. It gets to be whatever you want it to so long as you trust in the process and yourself.

Have I ever (until now) promoted a supplement since starting my nutrition, health and dietetics career? No
Will I ever promote any other supplements? Highly likely not, unless it genuinely blows me away like Metapwr does.

I dont, nor will I ever talk about a supplement or medication that I havent tried myself and/or that doesnt have research to back it. I dont care if I can make money on lots of things. What I care about is integrity and health.

So if I ever do share a specific product you can be sure I am doing it for the right reasons! And the best part about it is the results will speak for themselves. I dont need to convince people of anything because everyone I know who has tried it has experienced amazing benefits!
