Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹

I guess today might be a good time to talk about how or why I became involved in Meditation and what it has done for me over the years. Which in part reveals in some way the type of person I wish to become.

In the 80's when I was a teenager my mother bought a constant supply of self development or new age books they were called back then. I ended up reading most of these. My mum's sister was highly regarded in her family as being the black sheep of the family as she did things her way, and didn't buy into the family ethos as convincingly as everyone else. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿƒ

Her knowledge of the bible when she was young was so poignant that the families local pastor insisted that she attend a Minister's College to become a Deaconess which back then in the 60's was the term for a female minister. This at a time when the only expectation on her was to get married and have children. Her parents were reluctant, but the pastor who they well regarded finally convinced them.

My aunt continued to study the bible well after her course concluded and would often be up late at night pondering the meaning of what was written within the bible, which then eventually led her to a Course In Miracles. She then helped her local pastor at the time who was forward thinking to teach a Course in Miracles to certain interested people within their congregation.

My aunt within her late night contemplations found enlightenment, which really just means she was able to reach beyond thought, to the layers of being which exist beyond these. She had many wonderful and perplexing experiences. She often discussed these with me as we drew closer over time.

It was within the bubble of her scope which I discovered my own love for not so much a disciplined meditation routine, but a heartfelt desire to dive within myself. Going within, through the dimensions of my own thought field, through the clouds of my emotional reactions and responses, hurts, traumas and wounds, to the ecstatic brilliant light which always always exists on the other side.

This work, this desire to go within influenced my choices within my life, and I gave up opportunities, jobs, career progression, family constraints in a bid to continue with this journey. A journey which enlivened me, sustained & nourished me in ways I did not know at first was possible.

This is what has brought me to where I am today and made me the person I am, a small reflection of the greatness, the beauty, the open but direct force which was my aunt.

Meditation Should Most Likely Not Become A Goal but it seems Necessary in this day & age to Prioritize it. Otherwise it most likely will Vanish from our lives.

We have so many things reaching out to us through the screen, through our kids, through our families, our work etc That if we don't Stop & Acknowledge the importance of Slowing down & Going Within, it will simply blur into the background of life.

Meditation doesn't demand our attention, even the inner us does not cry out from our depths to say 'Hang on a moment, this doesn't feel right'.

Instead the Real Us, Who We Really Are & What we are Connected to just quietly waits in the back of the room, in a corner, for Us to Look Up & See them, Recognize them, then Walk Towards them and then finally sit with them.

The reason Why they wait so patiently is that they most likely know that it is only once we are tired of the Dance & Drama of Life that we are Ready to Go Within.

Before this they are merely expending valuable energy for little effect.

So each of us in our own time, will make our way to the back of the room to find them.

But, in this Modern Age time is precious. The Clock appears to be speeding up. By the time we get to the back of the room it might be too late.

We will need time to work with our wounds, overcome the barriers within our Mind before we can genuinely Go Within.

The Onus is On Us then, to Look Up, to Make Our Way to the Back of the Room.

The Only Way that I can See then for All of Us to Make it to the Back of the Room in time.? Is to Make Daily Meditation the Goal. Even if that means only Actively Listening for 3-5 mins per day.

Active Listening is not a body language skill, it is a meditation that deliberately seeks to turn on your ears, regardless of what you are doing.

It might seem like the tiniest of steps, but it will lead you to the Back of the Room.

Forgiveness is difficult, but essential for our own healing. Without forgiveness we become stuck in a rut, we begin to close down to others, to experiences, to life as a whole in a bid to protect ourselves.

This is a natural survival mechanism which we innately feel protects our wounds. But the secret parasite of infection can still infiltrate and invade these wounds, causing us to extend and suffer without real purpose or meaning. We simply recirculate the same inane false beliefs over and over again.

What this does to our psyche is it puts us on edge, a cloud of infection of negative self talk follows us & clouds all that we see, hear touch, taste & smell. We constantly beat ourselves up as the infection inside our wounds has no where else to go. It must circulate within us.

We then constantly are forced to try and run away from this secret enemy. We begin to perceive threats, hate, injustice & attack everywhere we look. The infection still gnawing away at our wounds cripple our perception so that our viewpoint feels right, just and absolute.

Eventually this trust and belief in fear creates a world for us where this is all we can see, all we can feel, all we know. It may seem logical, comfortable, rational as it is constantly verified by the Pain & suffering of others who are pinned under the weight of this infection also. But in truth, like a severely sick person's delusions, this evidence is skewed.

Opening Up & Learning How to Forgive Instead of Closing Down is the Only Way to Correct our Misperceptions.

Meditation Ideally is not just a means of relieving symptoms of stress or other natural consequences of everyday life.

Meditation if practiced regularly over time creates a little side lane we can scoot down to collapse into the safety, spaciousness & security of our Inner World.

This Inner World we find with time becomes Impenetrable, no one can touch us here. We are Safe & Protected.

The reason we feel safe here is because like a fence or a layer of trapped air, we have unbeknownst to us began to create a gap between us and our thoughts.

This gap is highly underated and rarely spoken about, because so many do not practice meditation so they do not know that it exists.

But this gap does or can exist, and it will shelter you from the harshness of your own thoughts, which protects you as well from the World at large.

My hope for you, is that at some point in your life you get to experience the wondrous experience & effect which is THE GAP.

If we are totally honest, All of Us are Beginning to Question our Mental Health in Moments.

There is so much Uncertainty, Destruction & Despair Diffusing around the Globe it is almost impossible to exist outside of this Pain Blanket.

We are pulled in by the Pain, Loss & Destruction we see on our Screens. It triggers us, resonates with something within us, and Emits a Frequency which is difficult to ignore.

We have not really been shown how to work Intelligently with our Emotions, so we Wrongly Assume that Feeling them or Working with them will push us even moreso over the Edge.

We are skating on Thin Ice. One more Emotional Encounter & We might not be able to Stop the Magnitude of pent up Rubbish just wanting to expulse out of Us.

What will happen to us? To our kids? Our family? Our homes, jobs, and World if we purge this enormous matter of vile pain up & out from within us?

Nobody really knows, But Few very Few of us are actually Brave enough to say The Hell with It & take the Risk. And Even if some people get close to this they get frightened as they do not really know how to go about it?

Meditation is a fancy word for going within. For being brave enough to encounter all the guck inside of you.

I am running classes that I have specifically designed to help you do this.

But still you make excuses, turn away... Life is busy...Distraction is Easy. Maybe if you keep ignoring what is going on within you it will somehow disappear??

Even You know this is simply not true.

The word Meditation nowadays has so many associated connotations that it is very easy to get lost in philosophy & ideas around what we should be doing.

But truth be told Meditation is a very innate & natural process & most people do it regularly without even realizing that they are in fact meditating.

This is probably the best way to meditate as there is then no hidden agenda or expectation.

Expectation ruins most things in our lives, it promotes discontent, ambition, greed, and the idea that we never have enough & that nothing is good enough.

If we could delete expectation from our lives we would almost instantaneously auto correct most of the gaps, difference & agitations within our world.

Without expectation we have no way to judge what should or shouldn't be. We have no precedent on which to determine who is wrong & who is right. And we have no attachment to making the world a better place.

If Everyone could just be allowed to be who they are, without comparison, judgement or expectation. We might find that although our world contains injustice & inequality it is naturally & lovingly providing broad experiences for a broad array of people.

This experience reflects the diversity, care & power of the majestic universe we live within. To cater to individual needs within one giant melting pot of chaos, which when looked at more closely has its own rhythm, purpose & intelligent moving & meaning.

This way we can see & appreciate the natural karmic lessons that the universe provides as the only real healing, betterment, education & punishment required.

This takes us and our ideas ideals & expectations out of the picture. Instead we learn to trust in the beautiful process that is LIFE, that is the duality of being on Earth & part & parcel of this very magnificent Universal System.

Meditation then is nothing more & nothing less than seeing this & surrendering ๐Ÿ’ฏ to it's process.

What does this really mean? ๐Ÿค” It means that every moment we have a choice, backed up by researchers who believe we make thousands upon thousands of micro decisions each day.

The choice we have in these moments may seem trivial or inconsequential I.e. should I drive home the long way with less traffic or the short way with more traffic. Should I have a coffee or try to stay away from caffeine?

These choices are small momentary decisions that on the surface do not appear to change anything in our lives. But if we slow down and zoom into these moments we can see that even the long way home is guided by fear, not wanting to get caught in traffic not wanting to be late, not wanting to upset anyone, not wanting to encounter conflict.

Or not wanting to have a sleepless night from too much coffee, or if we choose the coffee not wanting to feel tired or sluggish .

So each minute almost, each hour like a radio antennae we are choosing between two channels - love or fear.

The more we start off making fear guided decisions the more likely we will automatically begin to make these same types of decisions. With time like auto pilot or autocorrect we make these fearful choices without blinking an eye.

We get accustomed to this pattern & rythym of choice, so that it feels natural, comfortable & even normal.

So without even realising it we have chosen fear and then when a bigger decision comes around because we are really still operating on auto pilot the chances that we continue in the same vein is high.

A Course in Miracles attempts to re route our persistent habit of choosing fear to opening up to the idea and vibration of love.

When we begin to Consciously look at the decisions we are making, with no veil of needing to see what props up our already embedded habits. When we are totally honest. We learn that we are deliberately choosing fear. But if we choose to slow down and take a closer look, a choice for love also is possible.

Choosing love is difficult, as it asks us to take responsibility for these very same decisions. So no longer can we blame others or life in general. THE REASON WE CANNOT SECURE A SENSE OF LOVE IS WE ARE CHOOSING FEAR OVER & OVER AGAIN

Funny but true ๐Ÿ‘ Most people don't even know they have hidden wounds from the past. And those that do, don't really know what to do about it.

But fortunately for all of us we have an innate triggering system. So that when small things, overwhelm, annoy, sadden or make us nervous we know there is something hiding within.

By going over our day at its end we can begin to see patterns in what triggers us. Usually if we follow our thoughts & emotions back from the initial reaction. And look more closely at the details, like zooming in to the memory or circumstance we begin to uncover the repressed memories and beliefs which are the original source of our trouble.

I have recorded an audio meditation to help you do this. To help you begin to go back over your day.
