WEEK 3 on the Mcdougall Program done! 😎

Here are some of my meals. Very basic meals, makes the process less overwhelming. Favourite meal at the moment is just potatoes with salad. Loving them with salad and balsamic vinegar.

I can’t wait to try my cooked potatoes that I air fried for dinner tonight, I think I have found my new best way of making potatoes! ❤️

This week has been the hardest on me in terms of being hormonal and trying to not let emotions get the better of me and binge. Also trying not to feel bad if I ate more starch than non starchy veggies. Cravings for pizza was real the other day as it being that time of the month. I also experiencied quite lot of bloating. Not fun. However, I pushed though the discomfort and made sure my cravings were satisfied with starch. 🥔🍠

I have had oats every morning with fruit. Lunch is usually leftover dinner or some meal with potatoes, dinner brown rice noodle, brown rice, or potato mash with legumes and non starchy veggies! This is what I love about the Mcdougall Program, it is not difficult to follow. 😌

I have not eaten out for 3weeks. That’s a first… 😲

Week 2 completed on Mcdougall program. ✅ 💜

Here are some of my meals. Been loving potatoes and brown rice spaghetti as my main starch. My favourite meal that I will continue to eat lots of this week will be mash potatoe with mushroom and veggie sauce.🤤

I also got on the scale and I have lost 1.5kg. So you can lose weight eating massive portions of potatoes.

I did start to develop some cravings last week for sourdough toast with vegemite and avocado. Freshly baked bread is what I am missing! I actually throught I would crave vegan chocolate rather than bread.

Still eating large portions of food to keep satiated. Potatoe fries are my go to snack and meal🥔 🍟.

However, I don’t find that a snack much as I’m content with 3 main meals a day. If I want dessert I blend frozen cherries and banana. The best sweet treat. 🍒🍌

Bring on week 3!! My intentions for this week are: more mash potatoes, trying some new recipes and cooking in bulk so I am not in the kitchen as much! It’s starting to annoy me.

Day 12 on Mcdougall program! Lunch today is broccoli with sweet potatoe fries. Just bought an air fryer and this has made cooking potatoes so much easier. Potato chips cooked in 15min. 😌I am loving lemon squeezed on broccoli 🍋😍

Meals from being on the McDougall program. Week 1 done. ✅ 🌱🥔

Positives: I have been waking up in the morning less heavy in the stomach. I am feeling satiated by starch and still no cravings for unprocessed foods right now, not even tofu or avocado which I love! I am enjoying oats more than before I started this program. The appreciation for oats tends to creep up the more you eat them on a consistent basis. Breakfast at the moment is either oats with fruit or banana oat pancakes. 🤤

Negatives: Trying to balance the starch and non starchy vegetables at meals. Not being able to go out and socialise with food and drink. Feeling bad about saying no when offered food or drink. I am noticing I am not drinking enough water, I tend forget. My body craves more water and exercise this week. I did one small walk in week 1, the downside of having a car.

INTENTIONS for week 2.
- Go on more morning walks.
- Experiment with cooking potatoes.
- Drink more water.
- Go with the flow and enjoy the process!

Here are few of my meals from the last 5 days of being on the McDougall Program for maximum weight loss. 🌱🥔

I am eperimenting this way of eating for 5 weeks. I started on the 10/1 and will go til the 17/2 ( just over 5weeks)

For me the goal is not weight loss, not to feel healthy, or any of the typical reasons someone adopts a new way of eating. My ONE GOAL is to simply stick to my word ‘Commit Myself’ to this program for the full duration. To be congruent with my word. There is nothing more painful for me when I say I am going to do things and don’t do it. It plagues and haunts me. So I’m putting this thought to rest and completing what I have been meaning to do for a while. Free up space in my mind.

After nearly week 1 done, I have notice, less bloating, less appetite as I am feeling satiated and full. Skin feels better. No cravings for processed foods or soy. This is the longest I have been without soy and I don’t miss it at all. I thought going without bread would be hard, but I’m too satiated to actually care. The hardest thing at this stage I would have say is the social scene and eating out. I won’t be eating out til the 17/2. However, when I eat my favourite vegan pizza in Noosa on the 17th it is going to taste like heaven. I can’t wait ☺️
