Here is the little guy who changed my life in so many ways. Becoming a mum broke me down to nothing and I had to work hard to rebuild the pieces.
I didn’t love training anymore, I struggled to think about healthy choices to eat, and I definitely struggled with not having a support network when we moved across the other side of the world with a three month old baby.
But I didn’t give up. I har a few good starts of consistent training and eating well and started to feel like myself. But as any parent knows, the smallest thing can knock you off your journey - hospital visits, change in sleep patterns, breastfeeding weaning, or simply just a clingy baby. It took a long time but I’m finally starting to not feel like myself, but a newer version of me.
I’m still learning who this new version is, even 2.5 years after having Ezra. But she can do pull ups with a weight vest now, can bench 55kg for 3 reps, can string 12 TTB together, stepped out of her comfort zone to become a CrossFit coach (for a short time - full time work took over), loves eating well and the feeling of calmness it creates, found a job in a foreign country, and most of all she loves her husband and son with so much passion that she uses it to strive to be the best person I can be.
I’m loving this new me.
