Pinch me moment. My first commissioned article as an author/writer — front page

I started writing my first memoir 7 years ago.
Published it 3 years ago.
And only now… it feels like things are just beginning.

There are so many moments where nothing is happening. No traction. Just me, continuing anyway.
So if you’re in that phase right now — keep going.

✨🙏

“The DNA test didn’t create a rupture. It named one that had always existed. I had spent my whole life feeling slightly out of frame. A little too loud. A little too different.”

“That grief — the grief of realising you’ll never have an authentic conversation with the people who made you — is its own particular kind of loss. It doesn’t have a name yet. It should.”

Grateful to Mamamia for including me.
✍🏻More to come.

“Sorry I Haven’t Texted You Back”

A poem that keeps going viral since 2019.

💪Vulnerability is an underused muscle.

It’s been atrophied for so long we don’t even know how to flex it anymore.

We’ve been conditioned to:
💌Apologize before we speak
💌Minimize our pain so others feel comfortable
💌Check on everyone else even when WE’RE the ones drowning
💌Delete the text that says “I’m not okay” because we don’t want to be “too much”

That’s not being flaky. That’s freeze and fawn—survival responses we learned early to stay safe, likable, and low-maintenance. It’s nervous system dysregulation.

But here’s what regulation looks like:
Instead of:
“Sorry I haven’t texted you back. I’m not okay but I’ll pretend that I am.”

Try:
“Hey, I’m not okay right now. I’d love to chat if you have the capacity to just listen.”

Or:
“Hey, I’m not okay but I’m creating space and figuring it out—say a little extra prayer for me.”

That’s inner self-confidence.
Knowing your own capacity and asking for your needs without apologizing or minimizing.

✨🫶👯‍♀️I’ve known since I was 5 years old, so having her on the 🎙️Inner Self-Confidence podcast was an absolute delight.

🥹I never threw myself a book launch party.

But Tess — a reader who was deeply moved by Trust the Flames — did.

She invited a group of women together to talk about the book and open space for something deeper: connection, vulnerability, and honest conversation.

Listening to these women share their own stories and reflections was incredibly moving. It reminded me why I wrote the book in the first place.

For moments like these- where women feel safe enough to tell the truth about their lives and realise they are not alone.

, thank you for creating such a beautiful space. It meant more than you know.

And honestly…
I’m calling in more of this for 🐎✨🔥2026.
More conversations like this.
More women gathering.
More truth being spoken in rooms that feel safe enough to hold it.

📖 and finishing book 2 “Lies We Inherit”

P.S. Swipe to the last photo… did anyone else notice what showed up in the room? 👀✨🌈

🎉Tomorrow I turn 40.

At 25, I had a panic attack on my birthday.
I remember feeling behind. Unsettled. Like I was missing something everyone else understood.

At 40, I understand my nervous system.
I understand my patterns.
I understand that confidence isn’t loud — it’s regulated.

I’m certainly one of those weirdos who genuinely loves getting older.
You could not pay me to go back to my 20s.
Or even my 30s.

I feel stronger.
Fitter.
Healthier.
More energised.
More clear than ever before.
Not because life is perfect.
But because I know how to regulate myself inside of it.

You’ll find me 📵sans social on Sunday March 1.
Protecting my energy like it matters — because it does.

This year I gifted myself a
🧘🏼‍♀️10-day Vipassana silent retreat.
🦷And Invisalign.

One strengthens my mind.
One aligns my smile.

Here’s to braver conversations.
To boundaries that feel clean.
To growing older without shrinking ourselves.

🎤 What We Don’t Speak, We Store

I’ll explore:
✨ How unspoken truth turns into anxiety + overthinking
🧠 How the body keeps the score of suppressed emotion
🤐 Why silence feels “safe” but slowly erodes confidence
⚡ The nervous system cost of swallowing your voice
🌍 How what we don’t speak isn’t just stored individually — it’s stored collectively and culturally

Tickets are only $6.

Let’s stop storing what was never meant to live in the body.

Millions of followers combined.
🔇Silence.

That’s not just influence.
That’s power.

And when power goes quiet —
that’s information.

You can brand consciousness.
You can sell courage.
You can preach vulnerability and integrity.
But courage is measured in what you’re willing to risk.

Silence isn’t neutral.
It protects something.

It doesn’t disgust me.
It educates me.

When the truth gets uncomfortable …
do you speak?
😶🤐or do you stay safe?

This week, I’m unpacking the weight of what doesn’t get said.

This isn’t about one person.
It’s about patterns.

You get to decide what voices you trust.
I know what I’ll be consuming.
And what I won’t.

✨Ep 31 of Inner Self-Confidence Podcast 🎙️”What we don’t speak, we store.”

Comment “SPEAK”for the episode.

💁🏼‍♀️Yesterday I shared a post that included names I had copied from an article without verifying independently.

That was my mistake.

One of the individuals listed, , has in fact spoken publicly on this topic. Including her name was inaccurate and I sincerely apologise to Glennon for that error.

My intention was to explore broader patterns around influence and silence — not to accuse or imply wrongdoing by any individual.

I take responsibility for not doing my own due diligence before posting.

The updated post reflects that correction.

We are all working toward integrity, truth, and growth. I remain committed to that.

If your inner voice says,
“You won’t get the interview,”
that doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It means your nervous system is trying to protect you.

A major reanalysis published in American Psychologist found that better health outcomes weren’t about being wildly optimistic — they were about being less negative.

Inner self-confidence isn’t forcing yourself to believe everything will work out. It’s learning how to regulate your nervous system, sit with self-doubt, and comfort yourself instead of catastrophizing.

That’s emotional resilience.
That’s mindset work.
That’s nervous system regulation.

And that’s exactly what we build inside my ✨90 Days to Inner Self-Confidence program.

If you’re exhausted from overthinking, spiraling, and fighting your inner critic — this is your work.

❌They’re not “just phrases.”
They’re are signs of emotional immaturity — passed down, repeated, and normalized.

Because when people don’t have the emotional language…
They say what they heard.
What their parents said.
What society rewards for keeping things uncomfortable but quiet.

Here’s what those phrases really mean:
– “Calm down” = Your feelings are too much for me.
– “It is what it is” = I’m avoiding this entirely.
– “Stop being so sensitive” = I don’t want to take responsibility.
– “Just let it go” = Your healing is inconvenient for me.
– “You’re overreacting” = I don’t understand your nervous system.
– “That’s just how they are” = I’m excusing harmful behavior because change feels hard.
– “Other people have it worse” = Your pain makes me uncomfortable.
If any of these made you pause... that’s your awareness rising.

That’s the first step to emotional fluency.

I find myself scroll-holing too...
Comparing my life to strangers with perfectly curated homes, book deals, dreamy vacations,
and somehow look like they’ve never known a breakout or a bad day.

And then I remember:
It’s the highlight reel.
Yes, I post polished photos.
But behind every image is my messy, imperfect self — and I never shy away from her.

That’s exactly why I write.
To remind you (and myself) that the beautiful life we’re chasing is built in the mess.

One of my favorite reviews of my 📖 book: Trust the Flames — from my bestie and gifted poet Alicia Cook ( ), author of Sorry I Haven’t Written You Back — said it best:
“Trust the Flames is a palate cleanser and a much-needed shot of reality. In a world of highlight reels and curated depictions of life, Katie Delimon assures us that the path to a beautiful life is often a rugged, messy, unfiltered one. Read this memoir.”

If you’ve been craving something real,
something healing, something that makes you feel a little more human — my memoir Trust the Flames is for you.
