On International Security Officers Day, we acknowledge those that de-escalate sticky situations to keep the staff and hospital community safe. 🤩
Peninsula born and bred local Lachlan has been a Security Officer at Redcliffe Hospital for six years, and his quick thinking and expert skills keep staff and patients out of harm's way while they are in our care.
“People are in hospital for many different reasons,” Lachlan said.
“We often deal with people who are highly stressed or agitated, it’s very rewarding when you manage to engage with these people to de-escalate a situation and help them understand that hospital staff are there to help them.”
