Any opportunity to play on Suncorp Stadium is one not to be missed, but I’d like to sincerely thank everyone involved, for contributing to what I believe was a fantastic and successful evening.

It’s great to hear that you, the teams, and your partners all enjoyed the night, both the match and the overall Suncorp experience.

Moments like this are exactly what Walking Football is all about, creating opportunities, lasting memories, and giving people the chance to play on a stage like this. I’m so pleased you were part of it and that it’s something you’ll always look back on fondly.

Thanks again for being involved and for your contribution to what was a very special night for all of us. A special mention again to Wally for refereeing, Petru and the set-up crew, and all players for their individual contributions.

Well done, everyone, and have a wonderful Easter. Our World Cup is only 7-8 weeks away.

WalkAroos Florence, Italy 2022

What a great day out at the Walking Football Australia WalkAroos training session yesterday (Saturday, 7 February) at The Italo Football Club, 18 Fairway Drive, Gold Coast.

Over a 3-hour period, we welcomed players from South Australia, NSW, Tasmania, Victoria, and Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, with 70 players in attendance, a fantastic turnout.

We also had four referees, coaches, and managers supporting the session. A big thank you to Steve Cunningham for organising the referees for the day, while coaches ran their individual drills and games throughout the session.

A huge congratulations and thank you to new venue owner Andrew Riches from Walking Football Gold Coast for allowing us to hold this session at what is now the new home base of Walking Football on the Gold Coast.

With a hot, sunny morning/afternoon, seven teams played 40-minute games 2 x 20 mins under the watchful eyes of coaches Ritchie Callaghan, Craig Wilcock, Carl Klaassen, and team manager Frances Wood.

We also thank everyone involved in organising the day, delivering equipment and our new tournament-size goals, Andy for marking out the tournament-size fields, and for the catering afterwards. It was great to see everyone stay on for refreshments and some excellent food after a tough session. Great preparation for the May event.

Huge thanks to everyone for being so proactive and enthusiastic in preparing for the May 2026 World Cup

The photos are fantastic and really capture the energy, intent and positivity within the group. I’ve already heard great feedback from a few people in WA about how well the session went, very impressive stuff.

A big shout-out to Paula for putting together such a strong, well-structured session with a great focus on fitness, movement, passing and communication

Credit also to Sam (away on holidays) and to Mom and Brian for their support on the day, especially Brian while recovering from injury.

Having 21 of the 26 players involved is an outstanding turnout, particularly with work and holidays in the mix, and it’s great to hear how well the session was received by everyone.

The plan to run another session on 8 February, and ideally make these fortnightly if space allows, is exactly the kind of consistency that builds strong squads and real momentum. This is a great example of players taking ownership of their preparation, please keep it going.

Well done to everyone involved, and thanks again for sharing the update and photos. We also acknowledge and thank Wanneroo City Soccer Club for supplying the venue and of course, the Wanneroo players who were selected to represent Walking Football Australia - WalkAroos in May at Perry Park in Brisbane

Walking Football Australia will issue an invoice for all items ordered.
This ensures accurate accounting and order tracking.

3. Shipping Fee

If delivery is required, shipping is a flat $25.00 fee per order —
whether you purchase 1 item or 10 items.

This flat rate helps us keep the process simple, fair, and consistent.

4. No Combining Orders

Once an order has been submitted, additional items cannot be added or packed together with previous orders.

Every order must be processed individually to ensure accurate stock management and production timelines.

Thank You Walking Footballers across Australia

With teams selection now complete, I would like to personally thank every single trialist who gave it their absolute best.

Sometimes our very best doesn’t quite get us over the line but the effort, enthusiasm, and determination you showed throughout this process will always remain a positive part of your development and your game.

This year’s trials were unlike anything we have done before. With so many players hoping to earn a place, the level of competition was incredibly high. From the outset, we made it clear that previous selection would not influence this process, and we stayed true to that commitment.

For the first time, we conducted trials on a truly nationwide scale, attracting many players we had never seen before and uncovering a great deal of new talent.

We recognised that talent, we evaluated fairly, and we are deeply proud of the integrity of the process. I want to take a moment to acknowledge our assessors, who dedicated countless hours from early-August through to November 20.

Their consistency, professionalism, and commitment were exceptional, and they deserve enormous credit for their contribution to this national project.
