It is an interesting phenomenon that some people following an injury or surgery will experience increased hair growth over the affected area. This patient sustained a fracture of the left wrist (distal radius and ulna) The reason for the increased hair growth is not well understood but is believed to be the result of increased blood flow. Fortunately the changes are only temporary and the hair growth normalises as recovery progresses. If you need help recovering from a hand or wrist injury, the team at Bayside Hand Therapy are here to help. Call us on 33967798 or book an appointment online https://www.baysidehandtherapy.com.au/

Our principal hand therapist Melissa had a rewarding weekend teaching splint/orthosis fabrication to this enthusiastic bunch of early career hand therapists. This weekend was extra special as it was Melissa's final time presenting this course. After 17 years of teaching on behalf of the Australian Hand Therapy Association, she is handing over the role, to a new presenter, who is bound to bring new skills and enthusiasm to the role.
