Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Anzac Day Dawn Service this year.

It was a beautiful service (even managing to avoid the rain) and we couldn’t have done it without the generous contributions of everyone who played a role.

Real Admiral Sonya Bennett AM delivered the special address, Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, Patron of Gallipoli Medical Research, read the Anzac Dedication, CEO of Legacy Brisbane Brendan Cox read the Anzac Resolution, Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) Professor Hugh Bartholomeusz OAM RFD read The Ode, Somerville House Cantrice Choir sang beautifully, piper Bruce Grice was stirring and soulful, and Anglican Church Grammar School provided the Catafalque party.

As well as being a familiar and cherished sight at Greenslopes Private Hospital, therapy dogs Dougal and Buddy are now TV stars! 🎥 🐶

They featured on 7NEWS to highlight the wonderful work they do with veterans, especially in the leadup to ANZAC Day, which can bring a mix of emotions.

Puppies Assisting Wounded Soldiers (PAWS) was established by war veteran Tony Wilson, who wanted to provide support for fellow veterans at the hospital. The program has been so successful that it’s now been extended hospital-wide for all patients and staff.

“It offers something very small and very powerful,’ said Tony. “Through pats and cuddles, a quiet reminder that no veteran stands alone.”

In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, we are paying tribute to all those who have served. We have displays and memorials explaining the history of this day of remembrance, including World War I and the Gallipoli campaign.

Greenslopes Private Hospital was opened as a military hospital during World War II, and we maintain strong links to our history and continue to provide care for veterans.

Please feel free to drop in and learn more about the history of ANZAC Day. You can also visit ‘The Bunker’ Museum onsite, which chronicles the 80-year history of our hospital.

Visitors are also welcome to attend our traditional ANZAC Day Dawn Service, taking place this year at 5.30am on Saturday April 25.

The Cancer Wellness Program at Greenslopes Private Hospital is celebrating its 9th birthday! 🎂

With close to 10,000 patients receiving cancer treatment at Greenslopes every year, this wonderful program, funded by Gallipoli Medical Research, has made a meaningful impact on so many lives.

The program supports people through one of the biggest changes in their lives, providing advice, resources, and genuine connections for them and their families. Recent events have included everything from a kokedama workshop to a petting zoo and pony rides.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers, donates, and dedicates their time to running the Cancer Wellness Program.

The team at Gallipoli Medical Research stopped by this week to thank the Greenslopes Private Hospital Social Club for their most recent donation of $5000.

For several years now, the GPH Social Club has supported Gallipoli Medical Research through fundraising events and raffles. For the patients at our hospital, the important veteran mental health research they do, as well as their patient support programs including the Cancer Wellness Program, can be life changing.

The GPH Social Club hosts a range of fun events throughout the year, including easter egg hunts and Christmas parties for kids, monthly staff gatherings, and an annual fundraising Christmas raffle. Thank you to everyone who makes this group so special.

Meet our dialysis team – an experienced, passionate, and multicultural team of experts providing compassionate and personalised dialysis care six days a week.

They work together to care for our newly diagnosed pre-dialysis patients to those living with advanced stage chronic kidney disease.

This month we welcomed our newest cohort of graduates to Greenslopes Private Hospital!

They join over 450 graduate nurses and midwives across the country who are participating in Ramsay Health Care's Graduate Pathways Program. We look forward to seeing them thrive as they take part in structured clinical education, mentorship, and opportunities to gain experience across different areas of the hospital.

We are thrilled to recognise Ben Watty, our Facility Manager, who has been named the winner of the Ramsay Cares Sustainability Award in the 2025 National Ramsay Way Awards.

Ben has helped shift sustainability at Greenslopes from aspiration to action. He has led major energy efficiency improvements across the campus and championed a bold 1,350KW rooftop solar proposal that would bring renewable power into the heart of hospital operations. His leadership reflects a long-term commitment to reducing emissions, modernising infrastructure and strengthening the way our hospital serves its community.

We also congratulate Amit Chauhan and Jodie Mallia from Joondalup Health Campus, this year’s runners up.

This recognition speaks to the scale and impact of Ben’s work. Well done, Ben. We are proud to celebrate this achievement with you.
