Moranbah to Mackay Ride for MND - Fundraising to provide service
MND is still quite a mysterious disease. There is no known cause, and no cure. The average life-expectancy from diagnosis is just 2.5 years. Each day in Australia two people are diagnosed with MND, and sadly, two people pass away from this devastating neurological condition. MND steals a person's ability to move, speak, swallow and eventually, breathe. MND Queensland is a beacon in the darkness of an MND diagnosis providing support and services such as the MND Advisory Service (information, advice, referrals, home visits, phone and email contact as well as support groups for those affected) and the low-cost Equipment Service (providing medical equipment and communication devices to help extend lives, make caring easier for families and carers, and make life as comfortable as possible for the time that they have left).
The Moranbah to Mackay Ride for MND was borne as an idea from Mick Scholer, our top Mackay Chillfactor Challenge participant from the last two years. The ride will take place the week before this year's Chillfactor Challenge and MND Blue Tie Ball which are both being held at the Magpies Sporting Club, Mackay on Saturday 27 July.
Please sponsor a rider and help them reach their target of raising at least $750. All funds raised will go to MND Queensland to provide support and services for people with MND.
