What do you call a group of music therapists?

🎶 A chord… a symphony… an orchestra… a melody.

Whatever you call them, we’d like to celebrate our team of music therapists this World Music Therapy week. Belmont is lucky to have three Registered Music Therapists who provide both inpatient and outpatient care to our community.

Music Therapy can support people living with mental illness to…
🎵 foster wellbeing, hope and meaning
🎵 improve motivation, management of daily activities and quality of life
🎵 reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
🎵 rebuilding and maintaining social connections
🎵 improving capacity to function [austmta.org.au]

At Belmont Private Hospital, we are proud to support Blue Knot Day, a national day dedicated to raising awareness and support for adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse.

Today we are hosting a blue-themed morning tea in support of Blue Knot Day’s theme, “You Are Knot Alone,” emphasises the importance of community and connection for adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse. We’re aiming to raise awareness and show solidarity with those impacted by complex trauma.

💙 Why Blue Knot Day Matters
Childhood trauma can have long-lasting effects on mental and physical health. Blue Knot Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the resilience of survivors and to promote understanding and compassion within our community. By coming together, we can help break the silence and stigma surrounding childhood trauma and support those on their path to recovery.

For more details on how you can support those affected by complex trauma, visit Blue Knot Foundation's page on https://blueknot.org.au/supporters/providing-support/

In Australia, International Day of the World’s Indigenous People is a special occasion to honour the rich heritage and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This day is dedicated to celebrating their unique cultures, traditions, and histories, which are integral to Australia’s identity. It’s an opportunity for all Australians to appreciate the diversity and resilience of Indigenous communities, learn about their customs, and acknowledge their vital role in shaping the nation’s past, present, and future.

Today on August 9, we come together to celebrate and support the vibrant cultures of Australia’s First Peoples.

Lest We Forget

On this day, we pause to honour those who sacrificed everything—their youth, their aspirations, their very existence—for the sake of our freedom. We contemplate the camaraderie, the collective struggles, and the indomitable connections forged in the crucible of war.

As the bugle resounds and the poppies gently sway, let us stand together in profound gratitude. May we pay tribute to the fallen by living lives that mirror their legacy—lives steeped in empathy, resilience, and unwavering love for our fellow human beings.
