Doggy anxiety is a REAL thing.
We have noticed it increase since the passing of our Mister Smokey 8 weeks ago.
Her grief and depression has turned to greater anxiety and she cannot be left alone at home without worrying levels of stress and cry/screaming.
Today she has been prescribed anxiety medication from the vet. I never thought we would be here in this position. Yet here we are and I truly hope it can help her.
We roster our time to ensure she has a human at home, but this does not seem like a realistic long term solution.
Alongside the medication our wonderful vet talked me through additional tactics which we will explore.

I love spending time helping humans find techniques to restore their nervous system through breath practices and yoga. I wish I could communicate the sense of safety to my beautiful old girl 🐾

We are hearing more and more about the importance of maintaining and gaining strong muscles 💪🏻, especially as we navigate pre/ peri/ post menopause.
Strength training is super important.

Whilst a yoga class is not the same as doing a workout with weights at the gym 🏋️‍♀️, it does certainly fall into the category ‘something is better than nothing’. 🧘🏻

So if you are just starting out, try some yoga and add in more strength training.
✨You may just come to realise how important strengthening other aspects of your life are …. ✨Mind Body connection, ✨Mindfulness & ✨Breath practices that will also benefit you.
