Queensland X-Ray is proud to welcome the first cohort of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging in Cairns, delivered in partnership with CQUniversity Australia.

This collaboration is a commitment to strengthening healthcare in Far North Queensland and is the first time the course has been offered in Cairns. By training radiographers locally, we're building a skilled workforce for the community and region.

Ahead of CQUniversity's new Allied Health and Engineering wing, anticipated to be ready in 2028, Queensland X-Ray will provide students with direct access to our imaging practices, ensuring they graduate with hands-on, practical, regional experience.

A group of foundation year students in the brand new CQUniversity Bachelor of Medical Imaging course, have toured the Queensland X-Ray's Cairns facilities where they will soon commence their practical studies in the discipline.

Queensland X-Ray is proud to once again partner with Blush Cancer Care Inc Inc to support Fight Back With Fitness.

The Fight Back With Fitness program, hosted by The Fit Lab Health and Fitness Centre, helps women diagnosed with breast cancer improve their fitness, build strength and gain confidence during their recovery.

As part of Queensland X-Ray's support, each participant receives two complimentary DEXA scans to monitor changes in body composition and track their progress throughout the program.

Queensland X-Ray recently visited Blush Cancer Care to present this year's donation to Chair Dr Sharyn Donaldson and her team.

We are proud to support Blush Cancer Care and to make a positive difference in the lives of women across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

Applications are now open for the Queensland X-Ray Regional Bursary at QUT (Queensland University of Technology).

This bursary supports third and fourth-year Medical Imaging students to complete a placement at one of our regional locations (Townsville, Toowoomba, or Gold Coast).

Recipients will receive $5,000, two weeks paid accommodation, and a placement at a Queensland X-Ray location, gaining real-world experience working alongside experienced professionals.

The sponsorship of this bursary is part of our commitment to supporting regional healthcare workforce development. Through supporting students in gaining regional experience, we hope to encourage students to consider working in these areas after graduation.

Queensland X-Ray's newest practice, Gold Coast Lumina, is now open, marking an important milestone as our sixth location on the Gold Coast and the first in the region to offer PET/CT.

Located at the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct in the Lumina building, the new practice expands access to high-quality medical imaging for the local community.

The Gold Coast Lumina practice offers a comprehensive range of imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, and PET/CT.

The introduction of PET/CT services on the Gold Coast represents a significant enhancement to local healthcare access, providing patients and referrers with timely, advanced diagnostic imaging.

We’re pleased to share that our new practice at the Gold Coast Health & Knowledge Precinct will be opening soon!

Located in 'Lumina', a purpose-built health hub, this will be our sixth Gold Coast practice and our first to offer PET/CT.

Set to open late-April, the practice will provide a range of imaging services, including X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRI, and PET/CT.

Queensland X-Ray are pleased to soon be offering PET/CT services on the Gold Coast, ensuring patients and referrers have convenient access to high-quality PET/CT imaging.

Queensland X-Ray is proud to once again sponsor Med Rad, the official society for Radiation Therapy and Medical Imaging students at QUT (Queensland University of Technology).

MedRad brings together students from medical imaging and other disciplines, giving them opportunities to connect, have fun, and build networks.

The group recently held a very successful stall at Orientation Week, where they welcomed new students and even handed out some Queensland X-Ray merch.

We wish MedRad every success for the year ahead.

On Sunday, Queensland X-Ray proudly took part in the 2026 International Women's Day Fun Run, braving the wet alongside more than 30,000 participants.

The event raised over $2 million for Chicks in Pink, supporting practical care, patient comfort, and treatment for women navigating breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Queensland X-Ray was the largest corporate team, and we are incredibly proud of everyone in our team who participated.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, stood together, and helped make a real difference. We look forward to returning in 2027 and continuing to support research, care, and better outcomes for all women.
