At Queensland X-Ray, we’re committed to supporting women’s breast health, both through our range of imaging services and our corporate partnerships.

For nearly a decade, Queensland X-Ray has partnered with Blush Cancer Care Inc to fund the Fight Back With Fitness program. Hosted by The Fit Lab Health and Fitness Centre, the program helps women diagnosed with breast cancer improve their fitness, build strength, and gain confidence.

Blush Cancer Care Nurse Gaye said, "Since 2018, a total of 200 ladies have participated in both FBWF and B Active (the program they do while having active treatment), and this number keeps increasing. For many, this program is their lifeline for both fitness and mental well-being."

Today is R U OK? Day, a reminder to connect with those around us and have meaningful conversations about mental health.

At Queensland X-Ray, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our people. Over recent months, we have been rolling out Mental Health First Aid training to equip staff with the skills and confidence to recognise and respond to mental health concerns, offer initial support, and encourage professional help when needed.

As part of the Sonic Healthcare network, we’re proud to uphold a workplace culture built on respect, care, and connection. We also provide Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), offering confidential counselling and support to our staff.

On R U OK? Day, and every day, we encourage everyone to check in with those around them, and ask, “Are you OK?”

Queensland X-Ray proudly sponsored the General Practice Conference and Exhibition (GPCE), held at the Royal International Convention Centre (Brisbane Showgrounds).

As one of Australia’s premier events for general practitioners, the two-day conference brought together the largest annual gathering of GPs in the country. It provided a valuable opportunity for healthcare professionals to explore cutting-edge medical innovations, participate in accredited CPD education, and network with peers and industry leaders.

Our Referrer Liaisons — Taylor Burgess, Trish Crow (pictured), Sara McKain and Stephanie Farina — attended the event, engaging with delegates and offering insights into the critical role medical imaging plays in diagnosing and managing a wide range of health conditions.

One of the key topics that generated strong interest was the National Lung Cancer Screening Program which launched on July 1. Queensland X-Ray is proud to be a participating provider, offering bulk-billed low-dose CT scans across our practices throughout Queensland. This initiative aims to support early detection of lung cancer in eligible Australians — improving outcomes through timely diagnosis and treatment.

Supporting events like GPCE aligns with our commitment to advancing medical education and improving healthcare outcomes for communities across Queensland.

Recently, Queensland X-Ray officially launched our new Practice at North Queensland Cowboys Stadium, which is our 7th location in the region. This new practice expands our radiology services and offers a wide range of medical imaging services, including advanced musculoskeletal imaging, with a focus on sports imaging.

Leading the new practice is Dr Peter Brookfield, an experienced radiologist with a deep understanding of sports medicine, under the guidance of Townsville Managing Radiologist Dr Alan Boles.

“Being based at the stadium gives us a great opportunity to support our local sports teams. Medical Imaging can support quicker recovery, injury prevention, and long-term musculoskeletal health.

“Our services extend beyond sports imaging. Whether it’s an injury sustained on the field or supporting a general health concern, our team is committed to delivering expert imaging and exceptional care,” said Dr Peter Brookfield, Radiologist.

Congratulations to the North Queensland Cowboys practice team, and thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate and tour the new practice!

Queensland X-Ray is very proud of our Far North Queensland team, who took part in Cancer Council Queensland's Relay For Life over the weekend.

The FNQ Relay For Life event brought the community together to honour those impacted by cancer, reflect on those we’ve lost, and fundraise for the Cancer Council.

Our team raised an outstanding $18,000, making them the event’s highest fundraising team. Congratulations to the team on this meaningful contribution, helping support the Cancer Council’s vital work in research, prevention, and support services 💜
