Our standard consultations of 30mins are the perfect length of time to assess and treat an injury in one area but we know that sometimes you might have a couple of areas giving you grief. That's why we recommend a longer consult if you want us to help you with multiple injuries or areas of the body.

Booking a long consult could help you to feel better and get back to what you love sooner.

Introducing one our newest faces at Activate Physio's Stafford clinic - Paulo!

Paulo is a dedicated senior physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience in musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory physiotherapy. He holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, postgraduate qualifications in acupuncture, and comprehensive training in Clinical Pilates and biomechanics. His holistic approach integrates manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, Pilates, and acupuncture to support patients in achieving their health, mobility, and quality of life goals.

Paulo’s passion lies in helping people move better, manage pain, and regain confidence in their bodies. He has worked across a variety of settings, from private practice to aged care, and has extensive experience treating patients of all ages, from those recovering from injury to those managing chronic conditions.

Originally from Brazil, Paulo moved to Australia in 2022 seeking a balanced lifestyle and new professional opportunities. When he’s not helping patients, Paulo enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring Brisbane’s coffee culture, and discovering everything Australia has to offer.

Meet Rachel Chan one of the newer faces around Activate Physiotherapy's Tingalpa Clinic!

Rachel holds a Master of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland and a Master of Sports Medicine and Health Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With a strong academic background and multiple scholarships, she combines expertise in musculoskeletal, sports injury, and rehabilitation care.

Rachel takes a patient-centered approach, tailoring treatment plans to individual goals and lifestyles. She integrates the latest research into her practice, ensuring evidence-based care for a wide-range of conditions, from acute injuries to chronic pain management.

Outside the clinic, Rachel is a dedicated athlete with a history in competitive running. She has represented Hong Kong at the national level in athletics and continues to enjoy running, cross-training, and exploring Brisbane’s scenic trails 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Activate Physiotherapy - Our Story

7 years and 2 children ago we began the journey of launching Activate Physiotherapy. What was once a solo physiotherapist working from a first aid room in the distribution centre of a National Company, is now a team of 10 working across our 2 clinics in northern and southern Brisbane.

Activate Physiotherapy was born out of the passion of our fearless leader David Sandison who always knew he wanted to lead a band of like-minded practitioners to provide effective hands on health care to our patients.

After running a successful injury management clinic onsite at a distribution centre Dave decided (while on an overseas holiday) to start a clinic. An opportunity arose when Brisbane based medical centre - Gumdale Medical Centre moved from its previous location in Belmont to a state of the art multi-disciplinary primary care facility in Gumdale’s Eastside Village.

Many a skype call was made from dodgy overseas internet cafes but nevertheless Activate Physiotherapy was born in October 2011. The picture in header was taken on the day after he flew home from Paris, with wife Cassie at the clinic was opening presided over by Federal Member for Bonner, Ross Vasta.
