Join UQ Medical Humanities Club for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and final Book Club of the year!

We’ll be discussing “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” by New York Times bestselling author Lori Gottlieb—a funny, raw, and deeply human memoir about what happens when a therapist suddenly becomes the patient. Through intertwining stories of her clients and her own journey, Gottlieb delivers a witty and profoundly moving exploration of growth, healing, and connection.

For our AGM, we will elect next year’s Executive Committee. Only General Members may vote. We hope to enjoy pizza and good conversation with you one last time as we wrap up this semester!

Date: 22 October 2025
Time: 6:00-8:00PM
Location: Room 325, Mayne Medical School, Herston

Join UQ Medical Humanities Club for our September Book Club discussion on "Breath" by Queensland-based author Carly-Jay Metcalfe. Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a young age, this memoir details how Carly grew up around the hospital, survived a double-lung transplant at 21, and even battled a rare cancer. Winner of The Courier-Mail People's Choice Queensland Book of the Year Award in 2024, it discusses how important the patient voice is for future doctors to understand.

UQMHC Book Club is always free & open to anyone.
