Trigger-pointing with a tennis ball under your glutes can decrease muscle tension, and ease a type of sciatic nerve pain called piriformis syndrome.

This technique is useful for people who run, walk up stairs a lot or are generally on their feet a lot.

It important to choose one or two segments of the glute that feel sore and apply the compression for 60 seconds. Don’t roll around on the ball. Apply a gentle to medium pressure and hold.

Don’t perform this exercise every day. Try it every 2-3 days as you don’t want to bruise the tissue.
