I had the pleasure of being nothing more than the Aunty of the groom at this wedding 🩷 Certainly was strange playing no part in a wedding, but knowing they were in good hands with incredible vendors made it easier to sit back, relax and enjoy 😀

Larissa and Cameron Dash 30.06.2018

1.What year did we get married? 2018

2.Where was your ceremony held and why? We had our ceremony and reception at the Mackay Surf Club, our ceremony was down by the beach.

3.What’s one thing you remember most about your ceremony? We had planned a surprise wedding, so all our guests thought they were coming to our engagement party, but we surprised them with our ceremony down by the beach. It was filled will so many emotions, from love, laughter and tears.

4.What made you choose me as your celebrant back then? When looking for the right celebrant for us, you ticked all the boxes for us and the vibe we wanted to create.

5.What advice would you give couples planning their ceremony now? Don’t get bogged down in the small details, it’s about your love story and having a good time. People won’t remember what colour name tags you had on the table.

6.What do you remember about how your ceremony felt? For us, having a surprise wedding, really put a different feel on the ceremony, it was so special that our closest friends and family were able to come and celebrate our day with us, especially when they only thought it was our engagement party.

7.How many years married are you now? 8 years in June.

8.What’s changed since your wedding day? (Kids? Moves? Adventures?) Lots has happened, we honeymooned in Japan, have holidayed in different parts of Aus, couple of job changes, we have 2 beautiful children, although our little boy was born with a genetic disorder, which has been a stressful journey but also a blessing in disguise, as it really makes you appreciate the small things in life.
9.What’s one thing you’ve learned about marriage since saying “I do”? Communication is key and you must work at your marriage every day.

10.If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be? Having more small moments with loved ones on the day, as there is so much happening and you never get to share enough time with all your guests, especially ones who are no longer with us.

Steve and Rebecca Harris- 16th of November 2019. I particularly loved the way they got married in the dark, under that big tree with all those beautiful lights 😍
1. What year did you get married? 2019

2. Where was your ceremony and why? The windmill - but I have no idea why, maybe the backdrop or maybe availability.

3. What is on thing you remember most about your ceremony? Being so happy but oh sooooo nervous 🤣

4. What made you choose me as your celebrant? I went to so many bridal expos and you were the most “normal” person who I felt understood us and you have beautiful energy.

5. What advice would you give couples planning their wedding now? Get a wedding planner!

6. What do you remember about how your ceremony felt? My ceremony/ entire day was totally different to the norm - having it at night time (because I love fairy lights) but doing the first look and photos before the ceremony, so that it was special for us whilst not making our guests wait while we shot off for hours having pics taken (I hate that at weddings)

7. How many years are you married now? 7 but together 17

8. What has changed since your wedding day? Nothing but everything has changed. We used to work together at the same workplace, now we both work away from home in separate locations to each other during the week days but we come home and are together every weekend. No kids unfortunately but we have had a massive amazing 6 week holiday to Europe in 2024 with my family - Steve’s first overseas trip (but he loved it so definitely not our last overseas trip - mission accomplished giving him the travel bug 😉)

9. What is one thing you have learned about marriage since saying "I do"? We are our own family now - and I need to make the others take a backseat in my/our lives.

10. If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be? I would wear the hoop my dressmaker altered my dress to suit so I wasn't tripping over my dress the ENTIRE time. I would be healthier and remember to put a reserved sign on the bridal table (we didn’t have a “head table” but one amongst everyone else but it wasn’t dressed well enough for others not to sit at it so my massive bridal party didn’t end up having an actual table to sit at but I’d re-live every moment slower over and over a thousand times.

As I approach my 250th ceremony, I wanted to go back to where it all began… the couples who trusted me in those early years 🤍

First up is Chris and Natasha Spreadborough #1 of 250

1.What year did we get married? 2017, August 26th

2.Where was your ceremony held and why? Private property at Kuttabul, we searched the whole region for a pine tree forest.

3.What’s one thing you remember most about your ceremony? The moment Monica called upon our grandmothers to be our witnesses, we now have their signatures forever 🥹

4.What made you choose me as your celebrant back then? Picking a celebrant was overwhelming. After many conversations with Monica about what role she’d take on for our wedding (I basically wanted her to be everything lol), Celebrant came into conversation. I was committed to have her marry us, she was committed to do it. She completed her studies, and we made it happen!

5.What advice would you give couples planning their ceremony now? Keep it personal, keep it simple, and don’t overcomplicate it trying to please everyone else. Choose readings, vows, and moments that actually sound like you.

6.What do you remember about how your ceremony felt? I remember it feeling relaxed and calm.

7.How many years married are you now? 9 years this August.

8.What’s changed since your wedding day?
Haha not a lot, We already had completed our family and purchased our home. We’ve made more memories, been on epic adventures, fully renovated our home and still married, that says something 😉

9.What’s one thing you’ve learned about marriage since saying “I do”? It’s about choosing each other through the hard days, growing together, and remembering you’re always on the same team. Communication really is key 💛

10.If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be? To be honest, I’d love to relive the whole day again with time ticking a little slower.
