Beloved community of women ✨

Please join me for a special yoga circle together on the grass under the light of the moon this Wednesday evening 6pm in Park Ridge.

It’s a powerful time to release what no longer serves you and/or what was never yours to carry. And yoga is one of the many tools which we can use to shine the light on this “darkness” so that we can release and let it go and return to our radiant selves full of life, vitality and possibilty.

Cost for the class is $12 pp which includes yoga mat and a light refreshment at the mat. Come as you are maybe with a shawl or blankie in hand as it is getting a bit cooler in the evenings 🌬️

Recently I’ve been focusing my yoga practice and other body based work on my heart area - anahata - known as the seat of consciousness, love, and compassion 💓

And what I am finding on this journey so far is that the more I bring my body back into greater physical and structural alignment in this area, the more I feel my mind and energy flow towards greater compassion and love for myself and those around me.

The more confident I feel in my ability to keep my heart protected from negative energy and forces, while still keeping it open to offer and receive love and connection. It’s a delicate balance.

For those interested, I’ll be offering this simple but challenging yoga set in my evening yoga circle tonight Wednesday 18th March at 6pm in Park Ridge and also Friday 20th March 12pm out in nature at the Berrinba Wetlands, Brisbane Southside. The last couple of weeks have been insane. There is no other word to describe it.

Raising a family without much of a village. Trying to consciously parent while re-parenting myself. Working more days than I can truly handle just to pay the bills. Birthday parties. Trips away. Cleaning. So much fu***ng cleaning. Trying to stay calm while people fling their emotional garbage at me and take no responsibility for their feelings or behaviour. Working to keep kids safe in my community.

My usual go-to strategies - dancing, yoga, talk therapy, and maybe a bit too much chocolate- have helped to take the edge off things. But I’ve still been feeling so yuck and my sleep has been horrible with vivid dreams and startled wake ups.

Without knowing I’ve been teetering on the brink of collapse.

Then suddenly this week a voice inside directed me to go and get a mini trampoline. So I did without really connecting the why. Then my somatic therapist picked up that I was stifling my anger and rage and encouraged me to connect with and release these emotions in a safe and titrated way. She asked me how I could do this and then I remembered: I used to looveeeee trampoline class at the gym before I had babies - the bouncing down, flinging arms around, and repetitive movements really helped to move stress , anger and rage out of my body. It’s like an adult version of a child chucking a tantrum 🌝

So that’s exactly what I did today - I chucked a bouncey tantrum and oh my goddess I am feeling so much better! I still feel the rage at just how much woman and mothers are expected to carry in this culture and society … but at least now I am not being consumed by it and can spring back up and keep going for myself and those I love.

This week’s kundalini yoga class was extra special with the mothers in the group bringing along their daughters to practice together.

How my heart sang to be able to offer a safe space for both women and children to find regulation and connection with each other and with the small growing community through yoga 💓

My own inner child was thrilled to see this come together knowing deeply from her own past experiences of an absence of regulation and connection with her mother that this is the kind of stuff that can truly changes lives!

Moving forward, I am thrilled to announce that I will continue with classes for women and children in addition to classes for women. My new class timetable is now:

Wednesdays 6pm -7pm yoga for women and children offering play + connection + elements of yoga.

Wednesdays 7:15pm -8:15pm yoga for women (teens included) for traditional kundalini yoga.




In tonight’s yoga circle, we will draw on the energy of big cats and dragon to help us access our power within 🐉 🐅

My cat is enjoying me waking up early for my morning practice. And this morning was extra nice to do some yoga to the sound of the rain. Cleansing. Nourishing. Revitalising.
