A FITTING TRIBUTE TO ALL OUR BURIAL COMMITTEES. WE SALUTE YOU!
The news of a mayyit is broadcasted on all social media platforms and the families are still in shock as well as grief upon seeing their loved ones lifeless body. There is always a group of ladies and men who will selflessly be ready at any time of the day or night to assist the family with the ghusl and burial of their loved one.
We plan for this world, we plan for years and decades to come, yet we do not know if we will see the next minute. Child births, weddings, graduations, events, birthdays and family gatherings are now tending with one having to be more extravagant than the other. Beautiful decors, ultimate luxury in food and entertainment, yet do we plan for our last day on earth? Do we know who is going to gift us our last bath? Do we want to be dressed in that skin tight jeans when we know it will have to be cut off our lifeless body by a stranger? Did we purchase our kafan? Did we inform our family that we would like them to be educated in the method of ghusl?
The ladies and men who volunteer their time, wake up at odd hours of the night, leave their warm beds and security of their homes to assist us in the ghusl and burial of our loved ones and soon ourselves, these are the gems and unsung heroes of our community.
These ladies and men have to remove the most revealing, tightest and shortest of clothing, nail polish, piercings, make- up, designer fragrances and so much more.
The family is often overwhelmed and so these dedicated individuals have to step in and do justice by the final rights of a Muslim. Some cases are horrifying for any human to see or touch but these individuals are the ready to assist as their reward is with the Creator of life and death.
The Ghusl and burial services are often never appreciated or recognized enough. They will be the ones who will gift us our final bath, irrespective of the condition we pass away in. They are the ones who will wrap us up in our final dress code, our kafan, irrespective of what designer outfit we had been wearing. They are ones who will drive us to our graves irrespective of the Ferrari in our garage. They are the ones who will dig our ultimate abode irrespective of our sea facing mansions. They are the ones who will assist in lowering us into our graves irrespective of how much we fail we acknowledge their valuable efforts and assistance while we are still alive.
To all the ghusl groups of ladies and men as well as the burial services and grave diggers : you are the helpers of those who are helpless, you are the driver of those who will never return, you are the digger and caretaker of the place that awaits us all, you are the cleaners of those who can no longer clean themselves, you are amazing team of individuals that Allah chose to do such noble work.
May Allah bless you with ease, security, support, barakah and happiness in this world and reward all your efforts by illuminating your hereafter with the highest stage in Jannah ameen.
