Recently online, there’s been a lot of conversation about people opting out and wondering why they don’t have a village or community…
not showing up, not committing, justifying every time they don’t show up for others as their own “self-care.”
And there’s truth there.
Community, friendship and a village do require effort and follow-through.
But the opposite problem exists too…
over-giving, over-attending, over-explaining, and quietly resenting the people you care about because you don’t know how to to say no or set boundaries.
This isn’t about doing less or doing more.
It’s about learning how to participate and show up without abandoning yourself in a way that feels good for you.
The examples show how it’s about finding that middle ground
where you show up with integrity, not obligation.
Save this post, it’s for the moments you’re deciding whether to say yes or no.
