Interesting

Learned something new, thought I'd share because it's very interesting. It makes perfect sense I just never thought about this. I love anything you could do naturally.

The navel:
Did you know why to put different oils in the navel?
Our navel (Nabhi) is an amazing gift given to us by our Creator. According to science, the first part created after conception is the belly button. After it is created, it attaches to the mother's placenta through the umbilical cord.
Our belly button is certainly an amazing thing! All of our veins are connected to our navel, which makes it the focal point of our body. Navel is life itself!
The "Pechoti" is behind the navel, which has more than 72,000 veins. The total amount of blood vessels we have in our body is equal to twice the circumference of the earth.
👶🏻 We knew that to lower the temperature for babies, we place a cotton hyssop with alcohol in the belly button, now we know that with oil, it's better.
Applying navel oil cures dry eyes, poor vision, pancreas, cracked heels and lips, keeps face glowing, hair healthier, for knee pain, chills, lethargy, joint pain and dry skin. .
👩🏻 Apply neem oil on your navel, to get rid of stubborn blackheads and acne
😊 Apply almond oil on your navel, to help achieve a glowing face
👄 Apply mustard oil on the navel to remove dry and chapped lips. It'll also keep your bowels moving to remove harmful bacteria, but it'll keep the good. It really works like a mild detox.
👶🏻 Apply olive or coconut oil to improve your fertility.
☝🏻 Keep cotton soaked in alcohol in your belly button to cure a cold, flu and runny nose. When a baby has stomach pain, we put a few drops directly into the belly button and massage it for a few minutes around the naval area, the pain heals. Oil works the same way.
🥴 Keep a cotton ball soaked in brandy in your belly button, to relieve menstrual pain and cramps
Sesame oil is used for all kinds of joint pain. Also known to strengthen bones. A lot of parents use on their kids every night at bedtime.
🤢Use equal amount of mustard oil and ginger oil for stomach upset, bloating, nausea, and digestive problems.
🤧 Using warm oil improves blood flow to the nervous system and also improves the immune system. Heal constipation and build a strong digestive system. Relieves joint pain.
Thyme oil is antispasmodic, helps relax arteries and veins, reducing blood pressure and stress in the heart. It can also help strengthen and tone the heart muscles.
🚽 As a diuretic, thyme oil can help your body remove excess water, salt and toxins from your body, which helps with weight, blood pressure, digestion and more.
Thyme oil is an expectorant, which means it can help remove mucus from the airways and lungs. Thyme oil is approved by the E-Commission of Germany in the treatment of bronchitis, whooping cough and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract.
Remember that thyme oil is a powerful compound and should not be used directly on your skin, as it can cause sensitivity and irritation. You should first dilute with a carrier oil (such as olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil)
100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil is what you are looking for.
🔸 You can also put a cotton with CDS on the navel. This is for lowering fever, inflammation, gastritis, abdominal pain, etc.
* FOR KNEE PAIN * PARA
At night going to bed, put 3 drops of castor oil on your navel and spread it 1 and a half inch around your navel.
*FOR PAIN RELIEF IN YOUR JOINTS AND DRY SKIN* *🦾
At night before going to bed, put 3 drops of mustard oil on your navel and spread it 1 and a half inch around your navel.
WHY PUT OIL AROUND YOUR BELLY BUTTON?
Your belly button can detect which veins have dried up and by applying oil, those nerves open them up..
You can keep a small drip jar with the required oil next to your bedside and place a few drops on your navel before going to bed

Did you know your amazing brain has its own built-in waste removal service? For a long time, scientists thought the central nervous system (your brain and spinal cord) didn't have a lymphatic system like the rest of your body. Well, they were wrong! And what they discovered is truly fascinating.

It turns out your brain has two types of lymphatic systems! The first involves vessels that work around and within the brain itself. But the real star for deep cleaning is the second one: the Glymphatic System.

This incredible network, named partly for the brain's "glial" cells, actively flushes cerebrospinal fluid and immune cells around your brain, essentially removing toxic waste products. Think of it as your brain's personal rubbish collection and delivery service, clearing out the old and bringing in the new (like glucose, fats, amino acids, and neurotransmitters – essential for mood and cognitive health!).

💡 Why is this important?
Researchers have found that when these brain lymphatic systems aren't working properly, toxins can build up, and inflammation can take hold. This has been linked to various neurological conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, migraines, stroke, and even glaucoma.

😴 The Sleep Connection:
Here's the kicker: The glymphatic system is highly active during sleep and largely inactive when you're awake. This underscores just how vital quality sleep is for your brain's health! It's when your brain is literally getting a deep clean, flushing out neurotoxic waste that accumulates during the day.

So, the next time you prioritise sleep, remember you're not just resting your body – you're giving your brain the essential time it needs to detoxify and stay sharp.

Prioritising sleep is truly prioritising your brain health!

I’m thrilled to share that my book is finally complete! It will be available soon as an ebook, and I will post the link once it is finalised.

This project has been a true labour of love, driven by both personal experience and years of research. After my own diagnosis in 2020—and receiving little support from the medical system—I decided to take matters into my own hands.

As a naturopath with a background in the disability sector, I’ve always been passionate about helping others improve their quality of life, particularly when it comes to brain health. My work focuses on supporting cognition, enhancing daily function, and working with individuals living with dementia-related conditions or traumatic brain injury.

I’m also currently furthering my studies in brain and neuro function, deepening my knowledge so I can continue to support others on their journey to better health and well-being.

💚 15 Incredible Things You Didn’t Know About Your Lymphatic System

The Silent Healer Working Behind the Scenes.

1️⃣ A Second Circulatory System
Your lymphatic system works alongside your blood vessels—only instead of blood, it moves lymph, a clear fluid rich in immune cells, proteins, and waste.

🧬 Think of it as your body’s internal detox and defense crew.

2️⃣ You Have 500–700 Lymph Nodes
These bean-sized filters are stationed all over your body.

🛑 They trap toxins, pathogens, and abnormal cells before they cause harm.

3️⃣ No Pump = You Need to Move
Unlike the heart, your lymphatic system relies on movement, breath, and muscle contractions to flow.

🚶‍♀️ That’s why walking, rebounding, dry brushing, and lymphatic massage are so powerful.

4️⃣ It’s a Core Part of Your Immune System
Your lymphatic system produces and transports key immune cells like lymphocytes and macrophages that defend you from infections.

🛡️ It’s your immune system’s highway.

5️⃣ It Flows in One Direction—Upward
Lymph travels toward the neck and drains into your bloodstream via the subclavian veins.

🌀 This unidirectional flow helps clear waste and recirculate clean fluid.

6️⃣ Your Gut Is a Lymphatic Hub
Around 70% of your immune system lives in your gut—specifically in GALT (gut-associated lymphoid tissue).

🥦 Gut health = immune strength.

7️⃣ Lymph Transports Healthy Fats
Through structures called lacteals, it absorbs and delivers fats and vitamins A, D, E, and K from your gut to your bloodstream.

🧈 Nutrition meets immunity here.

8️⃣ The Spleen and Thymus = Lymphatic Organs
Your spleen filters blood and supports immunity, while your thymus matures T-cells.

🫀📦 These two are key immune allies.

9️⃣ Stagnant Lymph = Inflammation
Poor lymph flow can cause swelling, fatigue, brain fog, and weakened immunity.

🔥 Regular drainage and gentle detox practices can help restore balance.

🔟 Your Brain Has a “Glymphatic” System
Your brain clears toxins while you sleep through a unique glial-lymph network.

🧠 Prioritise quality rest for brain detox!

1️⃣1️⃣ Stress Slows Lymph Flow
Chronic stress reduces lymphatic movement and immune response.

😌 Gentle therapies like breathwork and MLD can counteract the effects.

1️⃣2️⃣ Your Tonsils Are Lymphatic Tissue
They’re part of MALT (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue), filtering invaders from air and food.

👅 First line of defense, always on guard.

1️⃣3️⃣ Lymph Affects Hormones
Hormonal byproducts are filtered through the liver and drained by lymph.

💃 Sluggish lymph can worsen PMS, PCOS, and menopausal symptoms.

1️⃣4️⃣ Lymphedema Is Lymph Dysfunction
This chronic condition leads to swelling when lymph fluid can't drain properly, often after surgery or trauma.

🦵 MLD and compression can support relief.

1️⃣5️⃣ Lymphatic Drainage Boosts Healing
💆‍♀️ Research shows MLD enhances post-op recovery, supports detox, reduces swelling, and even eases emotional tension.

🌿 Let It Flow. Let It Heal.

Your lymphatic system is a powerful, yet often overlooked, part of your wellbeing. When supported, it can transform your energy, immunity, and emotional clarity.

✨ Empower your health from the inside out.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

What is the lymphatic system?

The lymphatic system is one of our body’s major systems, front line in our body’s ability to fight disease and infection, and remove toxins. The lymphatic fluid contains immune cells that circulate around the body to mop up toxins and transport them to the lymph nodes (glands). In the glands these toxins are broken down and lymph fluid is filtered so it can continue to circulate around the body and collect more toxins. Toxins may include viruses, bacteria, pollution, food additives, drugs and general metabolic waste, meaning a healthy lymphatic system is vital for your immunity.

Unlike the circulatory system in your body, where the heart pumps blood, your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump and uses muscle contraction to move the lymphatic fluid, so MLD is very helpful for people with limited mobility. This is quite a slow-moving and often sluggish process, so lymphatic drainage is something that almost everyone can benefit from.

Our bodies contain almost twice as much lymphatic fluid as blood and during a 24 hour period, thousands of litres of blood are pumped through the heart, while only 2 litres of lymphatic fluid are moved through the body. In the 24 hours after a full body lymphatic drainage massage, 20 litres of lymphatic fluid will circulate through the heart.
