Our next term is starting in May and is 8 weeks of working with sound and the subtle body through voice, breath & gentle movement.

Each 45-min session includes:
• 5 min Gentle movement
• Mantra chanting (subtle body focus this term!)
• Writing prompts and reflections
• Q & A / chat

Designed to help you:
• Connect & practice with a like minded community
• Improve your intuition (this term specifically focuses on this!)
• Deepen your meditation practice
• Improve self awareness
• Reduce stress & enhance focus
• Assist with overall wellbeing

Can mantra make you kinder?

In our research, people report being more willing to perform acts of kindness after chanting together.

There’s something powerful about synchronising your voice with others. There’s neural entrainment and neural coupling (more on that another day!) but even when you practise alone, you might notice a stronger sense of connection…to yourself, to others, or to something greater. Do you?

There is a story about Hanuman when he accidentally mistook the sun for a giant mango 🥭 .. and tried to eat the sun! ☀️
Although this was an honest mistake, even the sun was scared of Hanuman! 🐒
This story is symbolic of the fact that we often don’t know our own strength.

“The break between mantra terms is too long” and

In my experience, nobody comes to meditation because their mind and life are completely in order. Errrm is anyone’s?

People come to meditation because they know things could be better, and that is a great reason to start practicing!

When we practice, and we are distracted, we just come back to the mantra… again… and again… and again…

Self-worth is something many of us struggle with, especially when perfectionism, self-criticism, or past experiences shape how we see ourselves, which, unfortunately, they often do!

In ta***ic yoga philosophy, we are all considered Divine. Perfect beings, the lot of us. But how can we move from knowing that as an idea to actually embodying our Divinity?

Chanting offers both philosophy and physiology. Humming or chanting Om may help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and shift the body out of fight-or-flight - whether you philosophise or not! At the same time, teachings such as “we are all Divine” can support confidence, reassurance, and a deeper sense of worth.

So whether it is the meaning, the physical vibration, or the nervous system shift, a little humming might help keep self-doubt away ;)

But don’t take my word for it, in yoga, you are your own scientific experiment, so try it out and see what happens. I would love to know!

As a teacher, researcher, presenter and writer, my goal is to share the science of ancient practices as a tool for healing, realizing our full potential and awakening consciousness. Due to the dramatic effect these practices have had in my own life, the most important thing to me has become sharing them with you!

I am currently dedicated to scientifically investigating and sharing the benefits of mantra meditation and love sharing both the art and science of this technique through workshops, seminars and writing for people of all backgrounds and experiences.
