Hi, my name is Alex (Zandra) Warland and I am a motherhood & birth photographer, Doula & Breastfeeding Counsellor. Through my introduction to motherhood, I have developed a passion for birth, breastfeeding, and family as a whole.
I have been crazy about Birth photography ever since I became pregnant with my first. It was then I started exploring the idea of birth photography and had a really strong desire to have one present at my birth. Already working as a photographer myself, I understood the importance of documenting such a momentous occasion, meeting my child for the very first time, the strength, relief, emotions, joy and satisfaction. I truly believe having our births captured is more important than having a wedding photographer. Unfortunately due to my Husbands medical phobia, he was unwilling to invite another person into our birth space the first time around, and it's something I deeply regret. The second time around I managed to convince him otherwise and the photos from that birth are absolutely stunning, it was so so worth hiring a photographer for the job. The photos will be cherished forever and my favourite part is that my daughter attended the birth and she is in the photos, reaching out her little hand as her baby brother was born. After struggling to Breastfeed my first baby in 2012, receiving very poor support and heaps of misinformation, I developed a huge passion for helping other Mothers achieve their Breastfeeding goals. In 2017 I completed my Certificate IV in Breastfeeding Education, Counselling with the Australian Breastfeeding Association. In 2021 I decided it was time to take my skills and passion one step further and become a Birth Doula. I am very excited to be able to offer these three thing to you in my birth packages. As well as birth, I cover motherhood and family photos. AGING and DEATH are the two main reasons I keep my family photos up to date, getting professional photos done around the same time every year. My kids are seven and nine and I look back on photos of them in awe of how little they were just twelve short months ago, not to mention when they were born. Documenting their growth is something that’s important to me, but also something they enjoy looking back on themselves. Photos trigger memories and my kids love to sit and listen to me telling stories that go with them. I also look back on photos of myself from a few years ago and wonder why I was so worried about my hair that day or my post-baby body and I know my body is not something my children will ever look back on and judge me for, they will just be happy to see me in the photos with them.
