How do you feel when your BOUNDARIES are crossed?
My little guru daughter had another lesson for me today -That's her meditating 🙏
This morning in my women's group, we did an exercise on boundaries - Creating boundaries from an expanded inner space rather than a contracted space.
I was feeling into my personal boundaries on what really serves me and speaks to my self-worth. Things like scheduling in my self-care practices showed up, and, as a whole, creating more structure where all my needs are being met so I could rest into the structure. Which would allow me to be more present in my activities since I knew the rest was taken care of.
Creating them from a place of expansion rather than contraction felt like a no-brainer and super easy! DONE!!!
But then my 2-year-old daughter had a refinement to mirror to me - Thank you, Kiyara.
As I put her down for naptime, she started to push the boundaries. I could feel the clock ticking as she became more tired and demanding. An hour passed, and still, she was no closer to sleep. I could feel the frustration growing in my body. With this awareness, I took a deep breath and asked why is this happening right now? What is there for me to learn in this moment? What is my little one teaching me and being a mirror for?
Aha…it hit me. Of course, boundaries the theme of the day!!
"I feel my boundaries are being pushed at this moment, so why am I not able to hold an expansive space right now? Because they have been pushed too far…
Aha, I didn't create a clear boundary soon enough. I created it once I was already frustrated rather than in an expanded space."
This hit home. It's easy to say and know what my boundaries are, but when I implement them is the refinement at hand. I travelled back in time when I felt triggered when my boundaries had been crossed. I had always waited to speak up right when I was going to explode when I couldn't hold it in any longer. I had been holding on for far too long, not speaking up soon enough 💫
My Refinement
✨How do I clearly communicate my boundaries from the beginning
✨What sensation do I feel in my body when a boundary feels like it's about to be crossed * Note this feeling too self.
✨At that time - go back inwards resource then (take a deep breath)
✨Speak up before contraction begins, go back and resource again
✨Hold my boundary from an expansive space
