STOP THE NDIS CUTS OCTOBER R4LLY POSTER RELEASED! GRAB YOURS AND SPREAD THE WORD!

At 1pm on October 27, Disabled people, our families, friends and allies will gather at Parliament House in Canberra to demand an NDIS that is Safe, Fair and Forever.

Every Australian matters. Every Australian STILL counts.

But radical cuts and drastic changes to the NDIS are harming people. Price freezes, travel restrictions and mass reassessments are forcing therapy and support services to close, slashing supports away to nothing, and leaving Disabled people in danger.

This protest is about survival, justice and dignity. It is about the right of every person to be safe, to have a fair go, and to have a secure future.

* Event details *

When: Monday 27 October, 1pm

Where: Federation Mall, Parliament House, Canberra, on the road in front of the lawns.

Speakers include:

❤️ Senator Jordon Steele-John
❤️ Marayke Jonkers, 3 Times Paralympian and 2024 President of People with Disability Australia
❤️ Craig Wallace, Advocacy for Inclusion - Incorporating People With Disabilities ACT
❤️ Heidi La Paglia Consulting, Regional Autistic Engagement Network
❤️ Sarah Langston, Australian Neurodivergent Parents Association - ANPA
❤️ Gowri Glasson, My H'Art Space
❤️ Pip Cullen, Nobody Worse Off Coalition and All Together Therapy
❤️ Kyle Montgomery, Dharawal Disability Action Network
❤️ Mark Pietsch
❤️ Sam Connor

— with more to be announced.

Accessibility on the day:

Wheelchair access | Auslan interpreters sponsored by Deaf Connect | Livestreaming and Online Attendance | Low sensory spaces | Accessible toilets | Masks provided

* How you can help *

- Download the poster and print copies as flyers

- Put it up in cafés, on the back of toilet doors and near essential services

- Leave a stack in your allied health centre or community hub

- Share it on your website or socials to endorse the protest

- Tag a friend or your Federal MP and let them know you’ll be there!

It will be a family-friendly day — so bring your family, bring your friends, and write to your MP to tell them to support the protest.

A social media pack will be released soon with more resources including reels and tiles!

RSVP to the Event and grab the poster in the comments!

Ahh, The NDIS and disability reforms, the gift that just keeps on giving.
I'll be honest guys, I tapped out for a bit in the last week. Here's what I've managed to catch up on - Including, some slides at the end on what options you can take action on right now!
It's a wild journey - you aren't alone friends
If you know of other petitions, protests or action please share in the comments - although keep it relevant please.
