But birth is not something to be managed or controlled! And it isn't only physical.

Dearest birth partner:

Your presence is powerful!
And It’s more than just the affirmations, hand-holding or pressure points.

It’s about HOW you show up.
Because your energy affects the room.

Your steadiness — allows her to soften.
Your faith — reminds her of her own.
Your groundedness — says “I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere.”

You become her guardian.
Her protector.
Her anchor in the wild unknowns of labour.

And this love — that steady, quiet, unwavering kind of love — is the most potent medicine there is.

To the men, the partners, the quiet space-holders —

Heading into birth, many women find themselves drifting along the system’s current.
Doing what they’re told. Following ‘standard’ procedures.
Trusting the hospital more than their own inner voice —
because that’s what they’ve been taught is the right way.
Some are saying yes… simply because they don’t know there’s another option.

This is your gentle reminder, from one mama to another:
Birth doesn’t have to just happen to you.

You are more than a passive patient.
More than a passenger.

You are a powerful participant in your own story 🤍

And despite what you may have been led to believe —
this is your birth.
You get to have a say in how it unfolds.

A birth plan isn’t about controlling every moment, because labour has its own rhythm and flow 🌊

It’s about connecting to your desires.
Listening to your truth
Honouring your sovereignty.

You’re not rigid or inflexible — you’re rooted.
In your wisdom.
In your faith and trust.
In your intention to birth consciously.

In this way, writing my birth plan became a devotional act —
one that said: “This matters to me.”
And that is powerful.
Not 'pointless'.

✨ Birth was never meant to be managed. It was meant to unfold and bloom 🌼

In my own home birth, where I laboured in stillness and was left undisturbed, I experienced the wonders and beauty of physiological birth.

But sadly, and all too often, the natural rhythm of labour is disrupted by:
⏰ Interventions
💉 Epidurals
💡 Bright lights and noise
💔 Lack of support

This post is about awareness, because when we know, we can make choices that align with our desires.

As a woman who has walked this path, I’m here to gently guide you back to your body’s wisdom, Wild Mama.
