If your ribs flare and your low back arches every time your arms go overhead, it might not be just a flexibility problem.
Most of the time, it's about awareness and control how well your ribcage and pelvis stay organised as your arms move.
When that control is missing, the body borrows movement from the low back to create the illusion of more range. That "extra range" might get the arms up, but it also means:
- The upper back and shoulders never really get exposed to the top positions
- More stress on the low back
- overhead movements that never really feel strong or comfortable
Learning to control rib flare and pelvic position gives your shoulders a real chance to move the way they're meant to (which is going to really help those with neck and upper trap pain too)
