Whew! The whirlwind of getting another round of Shamanic Herbalism Flower training on the way- as we started today! Full moon and the cactus blossoms again! It's on its third stunning round of blooming days this summer. I thought to make an essence under the full moons rays but we arrived home and they hadn't yet opened in the cloud cover and drizzle.
But early this morning, a flower was delivered to me in bed. They had indeed bloomed, full moon cloud cover or not.
I placed the gigantic flower face down in a bowl of water, to pick up the dulled overcast sun rays of the morning, and went back to bed for a rather sleepy preliminary tune in. Of moonlight and starlight, of purity and cosmic rays, of what blooms in the darkness and shadows, bringing light when its most needed to downcast days.
Not long after i pulled a herb card for the day - Hypericum (St. John's Wort). How poetic - a herb of the sun's bright light, and a night blooming cactus. Must be time to filter the hypericum infused oil that has been imbuing the last few months. In case you don't know St. John's Wort - when you infuse the yellow blossoms in oil, the oil turns a blood red colour.
Imagine my surprise then, to go back to the Cactus flower essence to discover it's colour is red - see photo!
