Unfortunately our office was damaged last Sunday in the floods.
We currently have drying machines in and repairs happening in the new year.

It shouldn't impact any patients appointments at this stage.

Thankyou to patients for their flexibility in rescheduling appointments this week.

Our office is closed for Xmas break from 23/12/23 and will reopen on 02/01/24.

From December 11/12/23 to 19/01/24 will be open Tuesday to Thursday from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

From 22/01/24 will be back to our usual hours of 8am to 2pm Mondays to Thursdays.

New group starting in December. Still a couples of places available.

Therapy Nest FNQ will be offering group therapy sessions for adults in December to support positive mental health and wellbeing over the school/xmas holidays.

It is recommended for best results to attend all or as many sessions as possible.

The following dates will be available.

* 10am to 11:30am on Tues 12/12, Wed 13/12, Thurs 14/12, Tues 19/12, Wed 20/12 and Thurs 21/12
*Minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 people
*Cost per session will be $100 per person
*Light refreshments provided
*Supportive and comfortable environment with other likeminded people

Topics covered:

*Understanding mental health signs/symptoms
*Setting and maintaining personal boundaries
*Coping skills and strategies to manage mood, anxiety and stress (CBT/DBT/ACT skills)
*Goal setting
*Communication
*Developing and implementing a support/wellbeing plan

Expressions of interest will close on the 6th of October 2023.

Love cats and dogs? Want to give back to your community?

Council is looking for volunteers to provide extra love and attention for the hundreds of pets that we care for at our Animal Care & Education Centre (ACE) each year.

While we do everything we can to make their time with us the best possible, extra affection never goes astray.

Providing much-needed enrichment and socialisation for the lost and surrendered pets improves their overall wellbeing and helps us to rehome them.

We have 2 roles available.

🐕 Canine Companions, who help out by:
* Walking and exercising dogs at our facility
* Socialising with the dogs
* Basic training (sit, heel)
* Pats and playtime.

🐈 Cat Cuddlers, who help out by:
* Socialising with the cats
* Grooming
* Playing
* Providing treats and other forms of affection.

😃Volunteers:
* Make social connections with like-minded individuals
* Gain valuable skills and experience to use with their own pets or to further their career prospects
* Improve their physical and mental wellbeing

Volunteers shifts are available every day for two hours in the morning or two hours in the afternoon.
