Have you tried Qigong? Or should I ask, have you heard of Qigong?

I have been enjoying the benefits of Qigong for over a decade now and I absolutely get lost in the moment. It was wonderful for my brain fog, witchy-ness and to assist in keeping my sanity when I'm sure it had left the building.

Qigong can be thought of as mindful movement. Moving slowly along with your breath to energise the body and combat stress.

Qigong has been a major part of my journey through Perimenopause, Menopause and many challenging life experiences.

When I first undertook the training to become a Qigong teacher I wasn't looking to teach. I desired to go deeper into this ancient practice for my own personal growth as it has been so beneficial to me. Along the way I started to get the nudge to share with others. The thought of this absolutely terrified me. I kept at it, graduated as a Qigong teacher having taught others during my training to get my practice hours and then thanks to the beautiful I had the opportunity to share with her online community. This for me was a game changer. I felt so alive and energised and I knew I had to do more.

This year I have been fortunate to be able to share Qigong within my local community and it has been so beautiful, my heart is full.
Thank you to the groups who have embraced this strange thing called Qigong.

I am also excited to share, that I have started teaching online classes. If you would like to know more send me a DM or comment below. There is more information coming, but why wait if you're keen and want to strike while the desire stirs.

For now enjoy these beautiful groups practicing qigong, many for the first time.

It's time to stop looking at peri and post menopause with the mindset that it's the same for everyone or that it is something that women should just suffer in silence through.

Although there are a lot of symptoms and life experiences that unravel in these years for many women, there is not one way to experience the journey.

Take a moment to look in the mirror... go on, it won't hurt you, I promise. Look into your eyes and notice how beautifully unique each of your eyes are. They're each different to the other, but one is not judging the other for not looking the same and neither should you when it comes to your experience and journey through perimenopause.

You are unique, beautifully, and incredibly unique. Stop judging and start loving yourself deeply. This is a season of deep growth and renewal. Embrace the season and see where you grow.

Don't get me wrong, it's not easy, but together... we've got this.

Admire your eyes again and remember how wonderful you truly are.

Many women I meet tell me they are not stressed, or that stress is not a problem for them.

Unfortunately for many of us stress becomes so “normal” to us that we can’t always identify it. But our hormones know and the impact of stress on our hormones is a rather large reason why many of a woman’s symptoms escalate and make perimenopause and beyond so damned uncomfortable.

Perimenopause is a time of life when every cell of your body is touched, every aspect of your mental, emotional and physical being is altered and your lifestyle seems to board a rollercoaster of unknown adventures.

It's not as simple as losing your period. It can be a much wilder ride and if stress is steering very little else will work 😢

This is why addressing your stress in these menopausal years is so vital to the life you deserve to be living.

Let's end the week with a little fun community interaction.

I'm not sure what your experience entering, traversing or living beyond perimenopause has been like, for many women though it is unfortunately a very isolating time and they may never actually speak to another person about what they are experiencing.

So let's start breaking this cycle and share where we are on this journey with love and acceptance.

As you can probably guess feeling isolated and unheard in this season of life doesn't do anything to support our hormonal transition and feeds right into the stress response in our body,

Have you stopped to consider the impact your stress, known and unknown, is having on your hormone health?

Especially in your perimenopause and menopause years!

Regardless of your stage of life stress alters how your hormones interact. As your s*x hormones lower during perimenopause your stress hormones get a helping hand in running the show. This can look like the many symptoms women experience during their perimenopause years AND it can increase the severity of your symptoms.

One World...One Breath

How beautiful is that? On the last Saturday in April each year at 10am people all over the world gather to do Tai Chi and Qigong. The energy of this day is a wonderful expression of what is possible.

I first tried Tai Chi/Qigong over a decade ago when recovering from an injury I attended a World Tai Chi & Qigong event. From that time on I have tried several forms and have always enjoyed the energy and peace it brings to my mind, heart and body.

After years of it being on my wishlist, I am currently in the process of completing the assessment phase of my Qigong Teacher Training. Just this week I was fortunate to be blessed by an amazing group of women attending my first group teaching practice class. I am still buzzing and excited for the next one.
