Worlds Greatest Shave 2015 - Belinda Francis Fundraising for Leukaemia Foundation. Giving back to the charity who supported us in times of need. But it never worried her, at all.

My inspiration is my daughter Charli and all little children currently fighting Leukaemia , ones who have unfortunately lost the battle to to this horrific illness. My daughter charli was diagnosed with ALL (Leukaemia) at the age of 2 (2012), she is currently still having treatment but we can see the light at the end of tunnel. The hardest part apart from diagnosis was her losing her hair as i kn

ew how cruel people can be. After making regular visits to hospital seeing so many kids with bald heads and beanies it made me realise its ok to lose your hair knowing it only for short time as it eventually will grow back. It made me realise that i could give back to Leukaemia Foundation as they have been an amazing support during times where we did not want to face reality. I set my next challenge for the year 2015 to fundraise for Leukaemia and shave my head for a cure, to show all current children fighting leukaemia or any form of cancer its ok to be different and if you defeat cancer it proves that you can do anything in life! And if people want to stare and comment let them they will only be embarrassing themselves. My goal is to raise $10,000.00

As most of you know know me or know people who know me or are following charli's journey, I have red long hair, so this will be a drastic change for me. 2years on from my shave in 2014 a lot has changed in our family!

1. Charli is still in remission( 1 1/2yrs )
2. Third and final child born- carter ( we finally got our boy and charli got her wish)
3. Over 15 hair cuts since my shave and a few colour changes too! I have gone back to the colour that suits me best!

I'm so proud of what my little girl had achieved and for me personally to lose my hair was a big achievement mentally! But at end of day I helped raise a lot of $$$$ for leukaemia foundation and that's what it's all about! I would do it all again in a heart beat 💓

Today i was presented with an award from the lovely annette jarrett @ leukaemia foundation.....SHAVE 4 CURE -made TOP 30 in Australia! So proud of the support from cairns community to help me hit my goal of $15000 .......this money will go alomg way in the way of helping families just like us in future.

My hair is growing fast,loving my new style after months of hats and bad hair days lol

Im so happy i had the courage to fulfill my promise to charli and leukaemia foundation. It was only a small sacrifice compared to what charli and other kids are going through....this journey has had many ups and downs but has made me a stronger person and one very proud mummy 💖 you charli bear

I can't believe we off to Brisbane for our 2nd last maintenance treatment before we can say goodbye to our very long chapter of our lives and become a normal family without stresses of medication and letting Charli be a normal little girl without having me anxiety attacks about who or what Charli has been in contact with! Woohoo so excited ....

Miss Charli hair is finally longer then mine😊.......love her beautiful locks......I now know the feeling what it is like...
