Starving won’t get you to your long term goal

If you’ve been eating less and still not seeing results, this one’s for you.

Who better than me to talk about this - I did my Atthai 8 day water fast recently (& lost 7kgs… only to put it all back on within a month!).
But I didn’t do it for weight loss. I did this religious Jain fast to make my mom happy 😃

You’ve been told fat loss is about cutting food.
So you skip meals, avoid carbs, cut out sugar and somehow get through the hunger pangs.

It works for a few days… until the cravings hit, your energy crashes, and all your progress slips away. 😩

You don’t have a discipline problem — you have a fuel problem.

Your body doesn’t want perfection.
It wants nourishment. ❤️

When you eat too little, your metabolism slows down, you feel tired and don’t feel like exercising either

The fix? Eat better, not less.

Here’s what that actually looks like 👇
• Eat 25–30g of protein per meal (I’m vegetarian, and yes it’s possible with my “3 food rules”)
• Add one colourful food to your plate every time you eat.
• Keep your carbs around your workouts

Stop thinking food is the enemy.

It’s the reason your mind and body have the energy to train, recover, and transform.

You’ll know you’re doing it right when you stop feeling starved — and start feeling energetic.

#28 Utkatasana" (Fierce or Chair pose):
Yoga postures can be heat building or cooling.
Strengthen your legs and knees whilst opening the shoulders and chest, this pose builds heat.

Some tips to get the technique right -
- Arms go up (as you sit down on the “imaginary chair”)
- Shift more weight in the heels
- Straighten the arms
- Elongate through the crown of the head

The problem isn’t motivation.
It’s mental overload.

You’re not lazy — your mind and body are simply tired of trying to do everything perfectly.

You wake up ready to take control.
You plan your meals, your workouts, your steps, your sleep.
But then work piles up, the day runs long, the kid vomits on the couch, dinner gets late — and everything falls apart.
Again. 😩

You tell yourself you need more discipline.
More motivation.
But that’s not true. ❌
You don’t need more motivation.

Most busy women don’t fail in their fat loss goal because they lack willpower.

They fail because they overload their mind and drain their body trying to do it all.

That’s not a weakness. That’s a bandwidth problem.

Here’s the fix: simplify.

Pick 3 things that matter most this week. That’s it.
• Move your body every day (even 10 minutes counts).
• Eat one solid protein source at each meal.
• Go to bed 30 minutes earlier.

When you make your goals smaller, your consistency builds.
And that’s how a transformation really happens

Focus your mind.
Win one day at a time.
Instead of trying to lose 10kgs by Christmas… only to put it all back on by Easter!

Personally, I’d rather lose 10kgs in 10 months, and never put it back on again 👍

You’re not lazy. You’re just overloaded.

The moment you stop trying to do it all, your mind and body will finally start to transform — in a sensible and sustainable manner

That’s a coaching tip I give my PT clients.

Having done 12,000+ Personal Training sessions to date, here’s what I want to help you with today:

Leave a little bit of energy in you, so that at the end of a tough set, you can drop the weights carefully, in a controlled manner, with the right technique… instead of slouching & straining your lower back!

(Or worse, blowing a disc!)

Most people, I see, are so fatigued at the end of a set (or un aware), that they just hunch over and drop the weights, instead of consciously keeping their core and muscles engaged as they lower it with the same precision they lifted it.

Watch me at the end of my dumbbell reverse lunges as I lower the 12.5kgs from each hand carefully to the floor

Injuries can happen in a split second and if you want to live your best, strongest life… you need to be aware of these small little technique points that can make the difference between a longterm lifestyle of strength training consistently.. or a body that’s always feeling injured or strained.

❤️ 74kgs >> 60kgs, Thyroid normalised on Transform, WOW Lovena 🙌

“I was feeling tired all the time, my energy levels were low, and I knew deep down I needed to make a real change — not just another quick fix. I had tried a few diets on my own, but nothing really stuck for long. I’d lose momentum after a few weeks and fall back into old habits.

I actually came across Arpita through a newspaper article some years back. I even reached out to her a couple of years ago, but at that time, I didn’t enroll — life just kept happening. But then my health really took a toll…

In my 1:1 call with Arpita (https://bit.ly/MindandBodyPT), she asked me why I wanted to join now. I told her I just wanted to “feel like my old self again” — to have the energy to enjoy time with my family. But I was still hesitant because of financial reasons. That’s when Arpita said something that stayed with me: “Sometimes you need to be a little selfish — to put yourself first, so you can be in a better place to care for others and truly be present with them”. That moment shifted my mindset completely.

😭 Before “Transform”, I was struggling with multiple health issues — thyroid imbalance, adrenal fatigue, and recurring bronchitis.

🥲 The thyroid and adrenal problems left me constantly drained and foggy-headed, no matter how much I slept.

I’d experience days of extreme fatigue, often needing afternoon naps just to get through the day. On top of that, even small changes in weather could trigger bad bronchitis episodes that sometimes lasted for weeks. It was frustrating and discouraging because it felt like my body was always working against me. ❌

Since joining “Transform”, everything has changed. My energy levels are up, I sleep better, and my immune system feels stronger.

The bronchitis flare-ups have become rare and my adrenal symptoms have stabilized — and my thyroid levels are now completely back to normal. 😮 😳

💪 No more constant fatigue, mid-day crashes, or that drained feeling that used to be part of my every day.

I genuinely feel healthier, lighter, and more balanced from the inside out

❤️ After losing 14kgs, clothes that once sat at the back of my closet finally fit again

My morning walks are now something I look forward to, and that “constant tiredness” that used to feel normal is gone.
