If you have diligently tried all the exercises that I have taken the time to teach you, then ask yourself: Which exercises feel best? Which ones are the most
challenging? Are there any joints that feel especially tight, loose, or that have a normal range of motion?
How does your body feel now?
You probably notice a BIG difference in at least 1-2 of your joints.

For our final wee, I will focus on the wrist and neck. These two joints/muscle groups take a lot of abuse during our daily lives, without receiving much attention in return.
The 5 exercises in the coming days, combined, create a great anti-desk routine.

Most of us love to travel, explore, discover and create good memories with our loved ones; but it’s no fun to step on the weighing scales on our return, right?

All that good food, large buffets, the sweet treats, wining & dining can create a serious dent in our weight loss (or even weight maintenance!) goals.

So how to manage enjoying your vacay and yet NOT gain weight upon your return?

Over 15 years ago, I changed careers from an architect to a weight loss expert.
After losing 23kgs, I felt SO good within me, so fit, so light, so confident, I thought, WOW… imagine if I can help other women feel this way!

It’s great to re visit Dubai, where I started my career as an architect (& also met my architect husband, Gary).

Today, I have a shocking stat, that when I read it, I literally felt my jaw drop. It’s about how much sugar we actually eat every day.

First, for some context: there are literally DOZENS of different recommendations for how much added sugar we should eat every day, but they all fall into the same range for a healthy diet – about 5% to 10% (absolute tops) of your total daily calorie intake.

The easiest recommendation I’ve found doesn’t require a lot of math to understand. It comes from the American Heart Association, and it is in line with what the World Health Organization recommends.

Their recommendations:

✅ Women should eat no more than 6 teaspoons (25 grams) of added sugar a day.
✅ Men should get no more than 9 teaspoons (36 grams) a day.
✅ Children’s needs vary, based on their age and calorie needs, but they should have no more than 3 to 6 teaspoons a day (12-25 grams).

But get a load of how much sugar we actually eat!

😯 The average American consumes 17 teaspoons (71.14 grams) every day … or about 57 pounds of sugar a year per person!
🥸 Australians eat an average of 60 grams of sugar a day (or 14 teaspoons).
😒 And in Canada, it’s estimated that children eat more than 100 grams a day (!!!), while adults take in around 85 grams daily.

That is a LOT of sugar, and a lot of it is the sneaky kind that’s added to processed foods – stuff we don’t even know that we are eating!

And a HUGE amount comes in the form of soda, juice, or other sweetened beverages.

😖 A 12-oz (368 g) can of cola contains 39 grams of sugar.
😫 1 cup (250 ml) of unsweetened apple juice contains 24 grams of sugar.
😔 A small (sweetened) coffee from Dunkin Donuts contains 17 grams of sugar!
☹️ A lightly sweetened tall iced coffee from Starbucks contains 15 grams of sugar.

Pretty shocking, right?

This is why it pays to be aware of what you’re consuming every day.
You deserve the best – and that means the best nutrition possible!

Shoulder Mobility Exercise no. 4:

Shoulder Rotation
1.Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart while holding a light dumbbell in your right hand. Option: If your shoulders are tight, you can do this without weight.
2. Raise your arm so your elbow is extended straight out from your shoulder, your elbow bent at a 90º angle. The front of your hand should face the floor.
3.Rotate your shoulder so that your hand circles up toward the ceiling, maintaining the 90º bend at the elbow.
4. Return to the starting position and repeat for 10-12 repetitions before changing sides.

Shoulder Mobility Exercise no. 3

Scapular push ups
And Gary recorded this one before we departed Australia so you wouldn’t miss any of the technique points/movement and get a clear understanding from all angles 👍

1. Get into a plank position with your
elbows/forearms on the floor.
2. While maintaining a straight line from your heels to the top of your head, drop your chest toward the floor by allowing your shoulder blades to come together together in your back.
3. Then, push the chest back up as you return to your plank. Make sure you don’t round your back at the top of this movement – keep it nice and flat.
4. You can also do this exercise with your knees on the floor.
