We often hear about type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, but have you heard of type 1.5 (LADA)?

Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) shares many characteristics with type 2 diabetes, however there are some important distinctions.

LADA is an autoimmune disease, and people diagnosed will likely need to begin taking insulin within 5 years.

Today, kicks off Nurse Practitioner Week 2020 in Australia. Running from the 07-13 December 2020, NP Week is celebrated in 2020 by the theme "NPs, Writing Our Own Story; Helping You With Yours..."

The road to becoming a NP is extensive, often unique and viewed as a privilege by Nurse Practitioners. Each Nurse Practitioner has a different story, and with NP's practising in Australia for over 20 years now, Nurse Practitioners are having to write their own stories, pave their own way, so that all patients and future generations can have access to quality health care.
