Did you know gratitude is strongly associated with greater happiness? Gratitude involves pausing to appreciate what you currently have instead of focusing on what you may lack. Practising gratitude helps people to feel happier, healthier, and more resilient. It boosts energy levels, improves relationships, makes you a more positive person, and helps reduce depression.

You can begin your gratitude practice by:
1. Journaling 3 things you're grateful for
2. Make a list of your accomplishments
3. Celebrate how far you’ve come
4. Do something nice for someone

“I’m worried about my child’s mental health.”

As parents and carers, you’re often in the best position to identify if your child or teen is struggling with their mental health.

Letting your child know that you care for them and are ready to listen and help is a great first step. And you don’t have to manage these on your own. There is a range of available resource, including your child’s doctor to seek advice on appropriate further support.

We join in their quest to change the face of men’s health.

Men are less likely to acknowledge or seek help for mental health difficulties. But mental health knows no gender, and asking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Ask for help when you need it. Your GP could be a place to start.

Living with diabetes can come with many different challenges. The good news is you can live a well and enjoyable life by learning about the condition and effectively managing it.

A diabetes care plan gives you subsidised access to allied health professionals to get you the best care possible. It allows people living with diabetes to visit five allied health professionals each year, such as a dietitian, diabetes educator, exercise physiologist or podiatrist. These visits are eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Diabetes care plans are valid for 12 months and should be reviewed every 3 months to track progress of health goals.

Discuss with your GP which services will best help you to reach your goals. Visit http://ow.ly/1etk105mm9v to book your appointment.

Living with diabetes requires daily care and attention. As the carer of someone living with diabetes, your support is absolutely vital to their health and well-being.

When caring for someone with diabetes, having a care plan from their doctor can give you helpful guidance and structure around how best to support them. It’s very important that you get the support you need to manage your own well-being.

Living with diabetes can come with many different challenges, both physical and mental. It’s not unusual to feel exhausted, frustrated or just over it at times. A holistic way of treating diabetes is looking after both your physical and your mental health. The first step is being able to know when you are struggling. The second is knowing what you can do and who can support you.

Having a team of people around you can help support you through tough times. This could be family and friends but remember it can also include people in your diabetes support team and other health professionals such as your GP.
