Speaker 1: Dr Chaw Han is a Gastroenterologist with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Motility/Functional Gut Disorders (including oesophageal manometry & pH studies) and Endoscopy &Colonoscopy. Chaw is committed to providing quality health care to her patients with a holistic and caring approach. She values the importance of communication with her patients and colleagues to improve health outcomes and establish good continuity of care. Chaw will be speaking on all things related to the gut microbiome.
Speaker 2: Emma Coleman is a dietitian at Nutrifocus with passion for helping people navigate nutrition and mental health. She will be speaking on the gut-brain axis and nutrition: more than low FODMAPS.

Come and celebrate a fabulous 2024 for the Lady Doctors with bottomless brunch and festive presentations by two fantastic speakers:

Dr Anusha Lazzari - Merry Perimenopause

Dr Lazzari is a local Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in the hormonal management of the perimenopause. She has a strong focus on providing high quality medical care to women living in remote and regional communities. Having trained and worked in the UK and Australia for a number of years, in July 2024 she commenced her own private practice based at Apple Tree Medical in Smithfield to focus on achieving excellence in the field of gynaecology.

Outside of work, she is a keen gardener and orchid grower, and former FNQLDA President. She has a passion for environmental conservation and sustainable living, as well as dress making and costume design.

Dr Katie Williamson - “Work/life balance is a Ho-Ho- Hoax”

Dr Williamson is a Cairns GP, working at Upward Life Family Practice and visiting remote communities with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Dr Williamson is well regarded by her patients for approaching their health with curiosity and compassion. She is known as a helpful coach, getting patients motivated and empowered to make positive changes towards healthier lives.

Also a former FNQLDA President, Dr Williamson is an experienced medical educator with a passion for supporting the next generation of doctors. She believes our patients will thrive only when we ourselves are thriving.

FNQ Coroner Stephanie Williams graduated from JCU in 2006 and her career traverses criminal defence, prosecutorial work, appearing in coronial inquests, sports tribunals and a commission of inquiry. She has worked as a legal practitioner in Queensland, the Northern Territory and the UK.

On 11 December 2023 Her Honour was appointed as the Northern Coroner, recognising her expertise in the coronial jurisdictions of Queensland and the Northern Territory.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Dr Xanthé Mallett is a forensic anthropologist and criminologist, author, and television presenter. She has written two books: Mothers who Murder (2014) and Cold Case Investigations (2019).

Xanthé works with police forces across Australia assisting with the identification of persons of interest in criminal cases, as well as providing advanced DNA technologies that assist with the identification of the long-term deceased.

Xanthé also contributes to various true-crime television series and is a regular contributor to crime news stories for television, radio, and podcasts.

All are invited to join us for our biggest event of the year - our conference night “After Dark”

Held on the Esplanade at the beautiful Guyala, “After Dark” is an evening event with exciting speakers exploring topics on women in the criminal justice system with plenty of cocktails and gourmet canapes served between speakers.

Our fabulous speakers include:
Dr Xanthe Mallet - a Scottish forensic anthropologist, criminologist, and television presenter. She specialises in human craniofacial biometrics and hand identification, and behaviour patterns of paedophiles, particularly online.
