is a little different to other conferences. There is a short plenary to open and end the meeting, but most of the time we are in breakout workshops discussing solutions to the many challenges involved in delivering programs.
The results of these workshops inform the agenda for where COR-NTD will focus their efforts to initiate and support for the coming year.
This session was on and we had some lively small group discussions on how we can deliver integrated health services for these diseases which include .
Current health delivery systems in most countries (including Australia) are disease specific. This means that we have vertical funding models and service delivery where multiple services can end up being delivered into a single community.
This is clearly economically inefficient, and in low income countries this can mean that more challenging diseases like will not be delivered at all.
I am always so impressed and heartened by the Program Managers who continue to look for solutions to what can feel like overwhelming barriers.
LKN, as small and unfunded as we are, has already made a significant impact in the communities where we have managed to conduct workshops so far.
If you have read this far and feel motivated to help us continue this work, please donate. No contribution is too small or too big.
