🌿✨ Sharing some recent reflections from Laura on stress, eustress, and why investing in wellbeing matters.
In a fast-paced world, understanding the difference between helpful stress and chronic overwhelm can make all the difference to our mental and physical wellbeing đź’›
We hope this offers a gentle reminder to check in with yourself and prioritise wellness.
Can stress be good for us? 🌿
In short, yes - but not in the way you might think.
The impact of being in a prolonged “stressed out” mode can be particularly damaging to our health. When we are constantly worrying and mentally churning through life’s demands, prolonged activation of stress hormones can place significant strain on our systems.
Research shows that chronic stress may increase vulnerability to colds, high blood pressure, and even gastrointestinal symptoms.
However, stress in moderation can actually serve us well. This is known as *eustress* - the kind of stress that helps us focus, feel energised, and perform at our best during important moments such as exams, presentations, or key life events ✨
In our fast-paced modern world, many of us are triggering a stress response daily. Often, stress occurs when our threshold for coping has been exceeded.
This is why investing in wellness matters so deeply. Supporting our mental health is not just about mindset - it’s about taking guided, intentional action to reduce the risk of secondary mental and physical health concerns 💛
Clinical EFT (tapping) is often referred to as a stress-reduction strategy and may be helpful in reducing everyday stress.
