Cairns West Medical would like to welcome Dr Madison Kay-Burman. Dr Madison will be starting after Easter on Tuesday. Appointments are available to book now.

Dr Madison Kay-Burman graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016. Since then, she has worked across a range of rural and urban settings throughout Australia, including several years in Cairns — a city she now calls home permanently after recently completing a 4WD lap of Australia.

Madison has a particular interest in preventive health, reproductive and sexual health, travel medicine, and chronic disease management. She is passionate about providing whole-of-life care and building strong, lasting relationships with her patients.

If you are over 65, please book into one of our flu clinics. If you are under 65, we have immunisations available at anytime that suits.

From 1 March to 30 September 2026, flu vaccinations are free for all Queenslanders aged 6 months and older — so now is the perfect time to protect yourself this flu season.

Just a quick message. We have received our 2025 flu immunisations and will be beginning flu clinics next week. A recall has gone out but unfortunately did not mention flu clinics. Please do not panic about this recall. We will be able to fit all who require a flu immunisation into these clinics over the coming weeks well before flu season takes hold.
