Dry Needling for shin splints for a dear old soccer friend โฝ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
These famous pair of calves (on this page ๐) belong to the lovely Sophie. She has heel bone spurs from her plantar fasciitis and gets really bad shin splints when she takes on extra coaching work/casual running.
I have focused more heavily with dry needles to her calf muscles (Gastronemis & Soleus). Laterally, releasing her peroneals (longus & brevis) and with the remainder of time, placing them to her anterior shin muscles (anterior tibialis, extensor digitorum). Then, using MFR myofascial release and cross fiber frictions techniques to massage any remaining tension out.
Here is a few photos of today's appointment. ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
