Apricity Supervision

Apricity Supervision Apricity means 'the warmth of the winter's sun'.

This is my aim in every session with my supervisees... to deeply connect practice with personal values and professional identity; melting the burden of systemic harm and ethical tension.

A little vulnerable post for a Friday...

Asking for reviews is not something that comes easily to me, but a friend reminded me recently that people can't find you if they don't know you exist.

So... if we've worked together and supervision has been useful to you, I'd really appreciate it if you left me a Google review. Even a few sentences makes a difference for a small practice like mine.

It helps other practitioners who are looking for something a bit different find their way here.

A question for social work leaders and managers:

Who holds space for you?

We spend so much energy holding space for others- for our teams, our clients, the organisations we serve. But supervision for leaders is often the first thing to drop off when things get busy.

And yet it's in those busy, pressured moments that reflective supervision matters most.

I work with leaders and managers in social work and allied health to explore:
→ Ethical decision-making under pressure
→ Leading with integrity in complex organisations
→ Sustaining yourself while supporting others
→ Navigating the tension between your values and systemic constraints

If you're a team leader, practice manager, or senior practitioner- this is for you too.

I'd love to connect. Feel free to reach out directly or visit apricitysupervision.com.au to learn more.

Not sure if supervision is right for you right now? Or, not sure if you need a change from your current supervisor?

I get it. Starting something new takes energy you might not feel you have.

That's why I offer a free 30-minute 'working alliance' session- no obligation, no pressure.

It's a chance for us to:

✔️ See if we're a good fit

✔️ Talk through what you're hoping for from supervision

✔️ Experience my approach before committing

I work online with practitioners all across Australia- whether you're in a capital city or a regional area, you can access reflective supervision that truly meets your needs.

Individual sessions, group supervision, and organisational packages are all available.

If you've been thinking about it, this is a lovely low-pressure way to take the first step.

Drop me a message or visit www.apricitysupervision.com.au to find out more.

Moral injury & ethical stress are one of the most under-talked challenges in our profession.

It's not burnout. It's not compassion fatigue.

Moral injury is what happens when you are asked to act in ways that conflict with your deeply held values. When the system prevents you from doing good. When you feel complicit in harm you didn't choose.

I see it often in the social workers and allied health professionals I supervise. And I see how profoundly it affects practice, identity, and wellbeing. And, I've been there, too.

Supervision- done well- is one of the most powerful responses we have.

Not supervision that rushes to solutions or checks compliance. But supervision that holds space for the ethical complexity of this work, that names what's happening, and that helps you find your footing again.

This is what I'm passionate about. This is what Apricity is built around.

I'd love to hear from anyone navigating this- whether that's in a supervision context or just a conversation.

Can I ask you something?

When did you last have a conversation about your values? Not your caseload, not your paperwork, not your KPIs... but the actual values that brought you into this work?

For so many of us, supervision has become a compliance exercise. A box to tick. A case review. And somewhere along the way, we lost the part that actually sustains us.

I offer something different at Apricity.

Values-based clinical supervision is about reconnecting with your why. It's a space to:

→ Process the weight of the work you carry

→ Navigate ethical complexity with honesty

→ Strengthen your professional resilience

→ Rediscover what sustains you in this profession

All sessions are online, so I work with social workers and allied health professionals right across Australia.

If this resonates, I'd love to have a conversation.

New graduates and students- this one's for you.

Starting out in social work is extraordinary and exhausting in equal measure. You're navigating placements, building your practice identity, learning who you are as a professional.

It's a lot to hold on your own.

I regularly work with students on placement and early-career practitioners. Supervision at this stage isn't just a professional requirement- it's one of the most formative investments you can make in your career.

Here's what I offer:
✔️ A safe, confidential space to debrief and reflect
✔️ Support with practice standards and professional identity
✔️ Real-world ethical guidance, not just textbook answers
✔️ Encouragement when this work feels hard (and it will sometimes!)

I'm online, so I work with students and new grads across all of Australia. Sessions count toward your CPD and AASW requirements.

If this sounds like what you need, reach out- I'd genuinely love to hear from you. 💛

There's a word I keep coming back to: Apricity.

It means the warmth of the winter sun- that gentle heat you feel even on the coldest days, when everything feels stripped bare.

That's what I wanted supervision to feel like.

I'm Candice, an Accredited Social Worker, and I created Apricity Supervision because I believe our profession deserves a space that restores as much as it demands.

After 16 years working across mental health, disability, trauma, and justice- I've felt first-hand what happens when you don't have that space. The moral fatigue. The ethical weight. The quiet question: am I still doing this the way I intended to? Am I still the social worker I thought I would be?

Apricity exists to help you answer that question- not from a place of compliance, but from a place of deep, values-based reflection.

If you're a social worker or allied health professional anywhere in Australia, I'd love to connect.

The festive season is all over, and Apricity is back in full swing. I have immediate capacity for new supervisees. Looking forward to connecting with you to see if we're a good match.

I've been struggling to know what to say last night, this morning... My words are stuck in my throat, my heart is heavy.
My heart absolutely aches for the Jewish families, on a warm Sunday evening at the beach, celebrating their faith. My heart aches for all their counterparts in the rest of our country, currently feeling fear that my privilege has never exposed me to. My privilege is very, very heavy today.
My heart goes out to everyone caught in this horrific attack, and those that had to run towards, rather than from. The police at the scene, the ambulance offices. The countless medical and allied health staff of the many hospitals that received the wounded and dying.
And to the Muslim man, and his wife in her hijab, that ran towards a man with a loaded rifle, your actions are heartbreakingly selfless and brave beyond words. There was no religious conflict nor racism in your actions, just humans stopping extremist violence. This is humanity amongst the worst of acts, and just maybe, the rhetoric may shift...
This was an act of terrorism, from extremists. A few do not represent the many.
My heart also goes out to anyone navigating social media today amongst so many horrific images, and even more horrific, hateful words. Go easy today and my inbox is open to anyone needing support.
