My name is Naomi. I am a Paediatric Massage Consultant and currently based in Canberra, ACT, Australia. So, what do I do? At Baby Blossom Infant Massage, I teach expecting and new parents or primary caregivers, how to massage their baby. My infant massage classes are for:
1) expecting parents who are at their third trimester, and
2) new parents or primary caregiver who has baby from birth to 8 months old, and

are interested to learn an infant massage skill that can:
1) Improve the health and wellbeing of their baby, such as reduce colic symptoms and sleep better,
2) Form a healthy bonding and attachment with their baby, and
3) Watch themselves grow to be more confident and competent in their parental journey. Infant Massage skill is a skill for life. At Baby Blossom Infant Massage, I will guide you step-by-step, with practical techniques and knowledge to achieve that skill. 😱😳My third Mother's day!

From a girl to becoming a mum, I have learnt to give more, be more patient and strategic, to love more, to plan better, to sleep less, to live life faster (and slower..), have less ME time, think less about my own needs, and to work harder (on everything) Hmm.. doesn't sound like a good and easy job??

Yet, if I was given another chance, I'll choose the same path 😅😊 for the joy of watching and nurturing a little one to grow up safe and feel loved in this world👶💞

🌈Are you new to baby massage? Follow these 5 steps for a soothing massage session! 😍

1. Choose the Right Time
- Best time to massage is when your baby is in quiet and alert state; this usually occurs after a nap or a feed

2. Create a cozy and safe space
- Warm room, soft lighting, flat surface and quiet (or with gentle music)

3. Use safe oil
- Unscented, cold pressed, organic and edible oil is best (vegetable or seed oil)

4. Follow baby’s cues
- Massage can be as short or as long as your baby wants. Stop the session if they seem unsettled or fussy.

5. Gentle, slow strokes
- Start the massage from legs, move to arms, tummy and back.

Bonus Tip:
- Talk or sing softly to your baby, tell them your day and secrets,
make massage a beautiful bonding moment!

I'll never get bored watching parents massaging their babies! In fact every session touches me in different ways. 🥹

This baby was looking contented and held his mum's hands as she was massaging his head; he slowly fell asleep after.

It was lovely to see both dad and mum learning how to massage their baby together too ❤️🫠

Infant Massage is more than relaxation, the Parent-Infant interaction is the main component and all other benefits then come along:

🌈Whilst baby massage can be a nurturing and soothing routine, sometimes a baby might not enjoy a massage and this could be due to these reasons. 🧐

I will ask myself these 5 questions:
1. Is my baby feeling discomfort?
2. Is my baby new to the massage/routine/strokes?
3. Is my baby having other priority needs
4. Hmm.. how old is my baby? (Age)
5. Is my baby in the right mood for massage now?

Respect and respond to your baby needs. Try to figure out what could be the reasons they say ‘No’ to massage.

We can keep offer them a massage, given all the great benefits of baby massage ~

It's ok - good things take time!

Key Word Sign plays an important role in promoting inclusion, and personally I find speaking and signing at the same time can train my brain to be active; another benefit to prevent dementia or cognitive decline 😁
